Gatorback TSB Refusal from Dealer even with Extended Warranty

I typically have a good relationship with my dealer. I take it there for all work including oil changes.? I have a Major Gaurd warranty, from AV Fox Herself, on my Avalanche and they still will not honor the TSB and apply the gatorback to my cargo covers.? They said it is not covered under my extended warranty, but is only covered under the original factory 3yr/36K mile warranty.?

I'm asking for any info and support on what to do next before I go to the dealer and act a dayum fool.? I've been trying to get this done for almost 4 weeks and they kept putting it off, until finally this week they told me its not covered by warranty. I'm normally not frugal with my money but $150 for the gator back and $75 for labor just to do my panels is crazy.

Any support? or info is appreciated.
 
I must have deleted the number. PM DougD and he will get ahold of Robert at Gatorback for you. Trust me Robert will take care of it. I am sure of this.

How have others over come this problem?  I'll PM DougD though and hopefully Robert will be able to help out. I'm just mad as hell that the extended warranty is not the same as the regular OEM warranty, those things are not cheap.
 
:wave: fyi, NO extended warranty that I know of covers fit and finish, only the manufacturers warranty covers this.  I would suggest you read your extended warranty papers to see just WHAT it does cover, usually the drive train, tranny, electrical components crucial to the operation of the warranty, which means if your window motors takes a dump, this aint' crucial to the operation of the vehicle and won't be covered.  Read your papers this way you won't be shocked the next time the stealership refuses you something, do your homework ahead of time and know the answers before you go in, saves ya a lot of time and headache in my opinion! 

ps:  provided you ain't got two million miles on your AV, I know that Robert from Gatorback has pulled some miracles out of his hat, go with him.

I was not covered under the Major Gaurd either. One call to Robert and the dealership got back with me in 15 minutes. You could tell they were not happy since they had just turned me down a few days before. Apparently they were told by the higher ups to take care of me. They even gave me a free rental. I dont know who Robert called but he has connections. Probably the best customer service I have ever recieved came from him. (y)

Cargo Covers and/or Body Cladding Discolored (Chalky) (Apply Conditioner) #04-08-111-001A - (Jul 21, 2004)

2002-2004 Cadillac Escalade EXT (Later?)

2002-2004 Chevrolet Avalanche  (Later?)

This bulletin is being revised to update material allowance and labor operation information. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 04-08-111-001 (Section 08 - Body and Accessories).

Important

Implementation of this service bulletin by "GM of Canada" dealers requires prior District Service Manager approval.

Condition

Some customers may comment that the cargo covers or the body cladding is discolored (chalky).

Correction

Apply a conditioner following the procedure below.

Caution

    * This product should be used in a well ventilated area using nitrile gloves and proper eye protection.
    * This product is flammable. Do not use around open flame. These reconditioning wipes may spontaneously combust, be aware of fire risk.
    * All personnel should read the Material Safety Data Sheet before using this product.
    * Proper disposal of used wipes should be followed.

Important

Make certain the surface is clean and dry before applying TS-1. This product will not bond to wet surfaces and, if the surfaces are not cleaned, the results will be disappointing.

  1. Wash the vehicle with a general purpose cleaner to make certain the surfaces are clean.
  2. For ease of clean-up, tape off all the painted surfaces around the trim. (This product will not harm paint).
  3. Apply *TS-1 evenly over the surfaces.
  4. Allow product to remain for a few minutes.

      Important

      If the next step is not performed, this product will remain tacky and attract dirt.

  5. Using a damp lint free towel, wipe the treated surface thoroughly.
  6. A second coat may be needed on severely faded surfaces and can be applied after step #4.

Your dealer is 100% accurate, the MajorGuard doesn't cover trim (which cladding is termed)

Based on your ownership and care both you and the dealer have giving her I would be very surprised if Robert didnt work his magic..

Well I had mine done with 36.5k on it, still under manufacturers warranty, but I had been griping about it since 33k, the only difference was the body shop that did mine did not want to do it on the vehicle, so they took all the plastic off and "didit" in the paint booth, then reassembled it, took three days, but they supplied me a car to drive also , so was not that bad.

Probably did a better job doing it that way.
 
I got approved for the gatorback with 39900 miles on my 04 still have to set up a time to do it My dealer is Londoff's chevy in st louis mo.
 
I just got refused Gatorback as well.  Anything anyone can do for me? 

Should I contact another dealer and try?
