If the "Cross 8" had a midgate, I'd import one and get it for the wife - this could be the heir to the Avalanche " mini-me" throne.......
The whole lineup shows a lot of creative thinking - it's nice to let the engineers do the thinking instead of the bean counters........

I agree, Holden is releasing it late next year.
I have had word from Various friend's that work at the 1 of the 2 main plants, and it is still being kept very secret. They have made 2 secret mock up versions of the 4wd's based on the ute, with detached sub-section (tray top, and raised offroad spec suspension). Since Holden GM has now taken over the market share of Subaru they will be using as many of the parts as they can.
No word as yet wether it will be a mid-gate system, if it is I'll let you know when they begin production at the main plant.
I sure hope so.......having such a short bed is just not worth anything much (similar to what Subaru has done with the BAJA).
