I like the idea of a pot luck. Where and when, I am only not available on the weekend of the 13th that month. It is my wifes birthday. I agree it should be someplace private. so there can be some focus.

6th doesn't look good for me
How about the 27th or March 6th or even January 30th  Those are all on Saturdays.

Take the poll,  I will then tell you if I will open my house to you bunch of hoodlums or not.....

Thanks for adding the pole to the thread Kent.  (y)

I would be happy to offer up my place for the GTG but my house doesn't do groups of folks inside very well. I just don't have the space.  (n)

We could do it here but outside!!

Thanks everyone!

BUMP!!!  I know we have more then 5 members  Come on guys take the poll on the front of this thread.  Thank you.

OK, On January 30th  If we get together, for our get together planning Get together at my house on Saturday evening say 6:30 And we do a Pizza Hut Party because all large pizza hut pizzas are 10.00 cept the cheesy crust which is 11.00, who would be able to make it to this cool event.    :welcome:

We need at least 75% participation.  I would even make Party Hot wings to go with the pizza.  (y)

So lets hear it.  The Poll idea was dumb.  So We need to pick a date and run with it and let you all reschedule your plans.  :E:

I guess this would be a pre Superbowl party?

OK,  I would like to see if there are any takers on this.

I have a good friend Named Phillip E. Jones,  He is the Author of  The Worlds of Crystal Moon series books.  He is having a book signing and meet and greet event Saturday Feb 6th, noon at Barnes and Noble.  He would like all of us to be there early to grab the parking spots up front.  Phil will say something about our club.  Big thing is He owns a 2007 Chevy Avalanche and just joined our club.

There are more then 250 Confirmed

We can all park in front of the Barnes and Noble and Phillip will say something about us to the fans.
About 80,000 clicks a month hit his website. He can do a cool news article us after the show and bring more attention to the club

He asked me for this too. Phillip E. Jones Quote:
"We will be filming this event. I can also make sure the guy with the camera get you guys on film. It will go on YouTube.  Just do me a favor and have the guys shout into the camera that you love the crystal Moon
We can promote your club and the book same time."

Let me know if this is Anything you are interested in.  here is the web site for the  Book and Show Promo

If you want his web site for the book just click on the link at the bottom of my signature.  It has been there for a long time now....

Kent, you may want to start a new thread for this or if you want to run wit it I can start an Official Thread if you would like. It sounds like a great opportunity to me. Which B&N are we talking about?

I will do whatever needs to be done to help!

That would be great Sterling,  If you could at least schedule the staging and cruise to the Barnes & Noble would be really awesome.  The Best way to show off is our arrival in force.

The voting thread is open for the t-shirt competition for the worldwide GTG. Please go and vote for the design you like best.

I have done a bit of research into the Southern Utah idea. Here is what I have found so far.

Duck Creek Village, UT

30 miles East of Cedar City on UT-14.

272 miles from the south part of the SL Valley or 4 hrs, 30 mins.

Duck Creek Village is at 8400 ft so the weather should be very nice even in July!

The location I am suggesting is the:

Pinewoods Resort
121 Duck Creek Ridge Road
Cedar Mountain Village, Utah 84762

I have not yet contacted them but here is some room info from their website..

Dates: Check in Thurs. July 22nd - Check out Sun. July 25th.
The price listed is for the entire stay (3 nights)

Motel rooms #7 & 10     $187.03
Motel room #9               $222.89
Motel room #8               $229.45
Lodge Suite                   $353.70
Inn Suite                       $323.46

The coolest thing that I think we could do would be to reserve the Mountain Home.

home-1-large-version-2.jpg
home-4-large-version-2.jpg

home-3-large-version-2.jpg
home-2-large-version-2.jpg

Mountain Home            $1469.75 = $294 per Avalanche (5 AV's)

5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, Living Room, Full Kitchen. Sleeps 15 in beds and 5 on the floor with your own sleeping bags. Basically we would each have our own hotel room plus a full living room and kitchen to enjoy together. With group meals we could really drive the total price down.

We would NEED to have at least 5 AV's to pull this off. (Or a really successful fundraiser!) If we had more than 5 AV's the others could take the motel rooms etc and still have access to the kitchen and group areas of the Mountain Home. Basically the Mountain home is the "Command Center" of the GTG.

Is there any kind of fundraiser we could do to help with the bill??

VERY preliminary itinerary...

Thursday, July 23rd - Travel and check-in at the Pinewoods
Friday, July 24th - Zion National Park. 45 miles to park.
Saturday, July 25th - Bryce Canyon National Park. 50 miles to park.
Sunday, July 26th - Check out and travel home

Admittance to the parks:

Zion - $25.00
Bryce - $25.00

Annual Pass - $80.00. The annual pass is good for one year at almost all national parks, monuments, historic sites, etc in the country. (Yes, it works to get you up American Fork Canyon for our Fall Cruise too.)

What does ya all think??
