Okay what happened to our Kansas family?  We havent had a GTG in nearly 2 mos.  Does anyone have any ideas or dates that sound good for one?  I know there are some coming up in MO and the Music City one, but I dont have the green to make it out of the flat lands for awhile.  Im tired of all of this rain, and am ready to shine my bowtie up and put him next to others.  If there is enough interest, I can look into getting us a spot in the Wichita River Festival Parade.

Verizon is putting fiber optic all over the place. It's not cable but my stepson just went from copper to fiber. Better pay and more work he works for Verizon

you work for Time Warner? ChevyGirl

No, I work for Cox Communications.  I have been watching the job boards in Texas for work at Time Warner or Comcast for the past year.  I am an Engineer, so finding a match is not as easy as it would be if I were a Technician.  :(

gl with that we would love to have u in Texas.. I remember an old commercial when Mike Tyson used to box,  he was promoting his pay per view and he kept saying Cox cable, but the way he said Cox made is sound like he was saying .....well something else

Hopefully the weather will be sunny and nice then. ?It usually is. ?Check into that parade thing and see what the details are. ?We will post to see if we get any interest. ?In the mean time we do need to do a Wichita thing again. ?Maybe Brian can make it this time. ?

There is a 100.00 entry fee and we can have no more than 35 people under that fee.  However, it sounds like it has to be a float.  I have been to previous parades where the group didnt have a float.  I will just have to call the Festival offices and see if a group of us can be in with no float.

or how many cars we can cruise with that float, we may be able to together a small float promoting the club and pull it with the end Av.

yeah, that would be cool-maybe we would get more members, which would then spur more GTG's then I would stop whining!!!

The good news is we dont have to have a float.  They require each vehicle to have the certificate of insurance posted on the website, and they are verifying that the $100.00 would cover our group.  However, the deadline is April 13th.  Do we have a banner or anything, or know anyone that could make us one?  I will post a new topic once I get all of the details.

I have a guy in Maize that will make our banner cheap.  He used to do a lot of work for me when I was in real estate.

Someone say GTG???

I think we have a GTG planned for dinner in the Kansas City area on 4-14-07.

Sorry I didn't post in Kansas sooner, I am planning a 2 1/2 week vacation as well.  >:D

I know it is a little drive from Wichita, but you are a lot closer than we are.  I am driving from Nevada by way of Michigan, so I should be at or about 3000 miles by the time I get there.  :B:

Check it out, you are all invited.

Michael

I will be in KC that weekend anyway so I am up for it.  I will get a hold of the members in the KC area and see what we can do.

Can't do the KC thing on the 4/14, but I am def. game for the River Fest. That would be a ball.

I think I remember seeing the local PT Cruiser group in the parade once. If they can do it, we surely can.  :B:

In the meantime, I have a bar-b-q grill that I have been dying to use for a large group. My house is probably not the most accomodating for too many people, so we could look at getting one of the shelters at Sedgwick county park?

Good luck with the large group!  There are only 6 of us members in this area and two of them have been absent for quite some time now.  By appearance on the board it looks like it would be you and your dad, Chevy Girl and myself.  That is of course unless we could pull some KC people into our area.

If we are gonna sport $100 to be in the parade we will need to get the KC people down here.

I totally agree Fouse.  The Wichita group is in need of some back up.  The parade is 100 for the group, all we have to do is have our entry in by the 13th.  Its May 11th, 6:30 to 8.  I would like to nominate Fouse to post the new bulletin, because he has the power to bring people together.  If we could get 10 people that would rock, 10 bucks each and then whatever the cost of the banner.
