Want to get some of those brighter headlights, you know like the blue ones,
but I only want the blubs, any have these?

Try the Sylvania Silverstars. You can buy at autozone. Yet, I stopped in yesterday with a buddy who just bought a new 2003 Z71. The store manager sold us some, but also said that HQ was getting ready to instruct the stores to pull them because they are too bright. Eveidently causing some consumer uproar since the Consumer Reports' write-up on HIDs.

With these bulbs you do not need to add a transformer, or what ever it is that I have seen post in the forums about?

The Silver Stars will not give you any blue tint. If you want a blue tint then you will need to get some after market bulbs that have a blue tint added to the bulb glass. Be forewarned that the blue tinted bulbs are less brighter then a bulb that has no tint on the glass.

Or you could just get the real deal (HID's) for about $370.00

I do not really care that much about the blue tint. I just want a brighter light that hopefully goes farther out. Have not been real happy with the OEM headlights. I have not tried changing the aim on the new ones yet to get them to go out further. My old 93 Silverado seemed to have better headlights though.

Thanks for the info.

Do a search on Silverstars, as there has been quite a bit of discussion about them. I have the Silverstars and am quite happy with the performance. I got them at a Pep Boys. They were $25 a piece or so, and I think there was a $10 mail in rebate not too long ago. Also switch out the fogs with 899 (I think), as they are a lot better than the stock fogs.

Low beams are 9006 Silverstars and 885 (50 watt) fogs elevated gives an awesome amount of light! More light than brights and much less expensive than HIDs.

yea i just bought my silverstars and i got the passanger sise one in but i could get to the driver side on what do i have to take out to get to the light houseing for the low beams

It's actually the easiest I have ever seen, but you have to read the manual. Their instructions are better than any I could give you. It's brilliantly simple and easy, IF YOU FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS. It took me ten minutes of scratching my head to decide to try reading the manual
