Hi ever one,

Last week end my wife and I went out shopping in our Avy. It was a bit cool out so my wife decided to turn on the heated seats, guess what they did not come on. I then turned on mine on the driver side and they also did not come on.
I checked the manual for fues location and found it in the side dash panel on the driver side. The fues checked out OK.

I asked my wife when was the last time she tried it, and her reply was the day before on Friday.

My question to any one on the forum, has any one experianced this problem before and if so what could it be, it's strange that doth went at the same time.

Thanks
Joe

I have a problem with the heated seats too! Mine didn't come with any. :C: oh well maybe a future mod.

Sorry to hear about your problems. this is the place to find the answers, unfortunatly I can't help.

Rock,

I have heated seats and so far no problems...I would get them checked out at the dealership, especially if it's still under warranty...just my two cents (y)

I wonder if there is another fuse in the distribution center under the hood on the driver's side?

Is there not a relay under hood?

in 2003 manual....page 5-98..under dash to left of steering column is a panel with circuit breakers... CB seat is for both seats....might be bad?

Thanks for your replies,

My wife today just mentioned that the power seats do not work either. If I'm gussing right, the two systems share the same fues? When I get home to night I'll check it. I wonder what else does not work?

Hay All, I fixed the problem with my seats!!!!!!!!

What I found in the service manual was the location of the 30A CB fues. It's located under the dash neer the brake pedal, I removed the fues and re installed it and every thing works good again.

I would like to thank you all for your help.

Great post Rock, now we can refer to this post when other members are having the same problem...karma to you my friend (y)

Amazing! My seats quit working yesterday just as I started a road trip. They would not move and would not heat, but all else worked so I went anyway. I checked the forum last night and read about reseating a fuse. I thought, no way, has to be blown or some other problem. Found the fuse (under the cover next to the brake pedal), pulled it, put it back in and TADA... it works now. Which means, this is another software logic problem. I suspect disconnecting the battery a few seconds will produce the same results. But in any case, this forum saved me yet another trip to the dealer!!!! (y)

When you remove the 30amp circuit breaker you remove the power to your seat module. The seat module controls heated seats. There is a software issue with the driver seat module(when you remove the cb it resets the module) If the problem reoccurs you can go to the dealer to check for possible software update or for replacement of driver seat module.

Just for future referance folks. I did have heat seat problems. They would come on, stay on anywhere from 1-5 minutes and go off, either on driver or passenger or both sides, when one went they both went, but the power seats did work. Usually when they went off and the stereo was not to loud, you could actually here the circuit breaker go off. Try again a few minutes later they would come back on if you pushed the button, then go off again. Long story a bit shorter, I had it to the dealer about 4 times before they finally fixed it. Every time I took it in they changed a module. Finally they got the right module and the seats are working fine. I was told by the service writer, that it was the adjustable pedals module that was actually defective and was tripping the seat heat breakers when in use.

hello you guys i have 2004 z71 and my heat seat not work on the bottom  but the back it work when i press the buttom to heat  the sit it just come on for sec and go off anyone know how to fit  this please, help

I know this is an old post but I did a search and this is the second result I found.  Yesterday my 04 started doing the same thing described above.  Both driver and passenger seats don't have heat.  The driver seat doesn't have any power but the passenger seat does.  Tomorrow I will try the fuse and hope that fixes it.  It sucks because I am 6'8"  and the last person to drive my av before the seats quit was my son and the seat is stuck on his setting.

I don't know if anyone is still viewing this post since it's so old but this procedure didn't work for me.  I removed and re-installed the 30A CB fuse located in the panel next to the brake pedal but it didn't solve the problem.  I tested the fuse and it was good. I didn't think about the battery so when I return I'll try disconnecting it.

No luck with disconnecting the battery either.  Oh well I guess the only choice I have now is to take it to the dealer.  :E: They'll probably charge me an arm and a leg for something simple.  Well let's hope not.

Okay I woke up this morning preparing to take the av to the dealer.  I went out to warm it up and decided to try the seats to see if they would work.  Guess what it worked.
I don't know if it's fixed or not but right now it's working so I'm holding off before I go to the dealer.

If they come on and then go off, there's a good chance the elements are toasted...  I've replaced the drivers side back element in '08 and am now replacing the drivers side bottom...  Take a look at the burn marks:

Follow link:  http://www.chevyavalanchefanclub.com/cafcna/index.php/topic,117636.0.html  I have been haveing problems just like you said.  Just this morning I had to play with that connector.  I just need more time to play with it and figure out what is causing it to do what it is.  Somewhat frustrating.
