200 Fires Burning In Florida

pretty bad down here - local school children kept inside, public health advisories, I-75 shut down......

I was out mowing the sand and weeds and let me tell you, the smoke smell is overpowering HERE and it's VERY hazy.

No offense, but I'm just happy it has changed direction and isn't all in my neighborhood like it's been the last few
days. was so bad this morning before the wind came up
the dog didn't even want to go out.

sand and weeds? sounds like my lawn, didn't even bother to mow last time, just drove over the big ones with the car and flattened them.

I renamed my tractor "Enterprise" today.

The lake is so low, I was able to mow where no man has mowed before.

Have to make the place "purdy" due to Derek's party here Saturday.  Mowed so I could spread the bug killer stuff in the back yard to control ants.  Never good to have kids running around the yard being eaten by ants!

Actually in can be entertaining....if you have a high power water hose...just wait until you hear a kids scream and you get to blast him >:D

I was watching it closely here in Flagler County...with the rain and the wind shift it has cleared up hear finailly..there was also a fire in Bunnell a couple of days ago and it was smoggy and heck, then.

While that is indeed fun (while I was washing down things in the back yard last week, I got swarmed - used the pressure washer on my own legs!), we have at least 1 kid coming that requires an epi-pen as he's so allergic to the darned ants.  Parties aren't fun when 911 is called, no matter how many lights they flash!

There is always one party pooper in the bunch >:D

and no, using 911 at a party is not a good thing....maybe have someone distract the EMT while a friend dismatles the fire engines horn for the AV?

I have all the access I need to fire department parts, thanks to my uncle and my father :)

I will tell you, 1850psi on the legs really takes the ants away!  I'm just thankful for the neuropathy I have so I didn't feel it too much.

Ant's suck...my daughter has that real delicate skin that if she gets a bug bite it stays for about a week...we went camping one time and her legs looked so bad I thought that the teachers were going to cal HRS on us

If only all this smoke could kill the ants!!!

Yeah no doubt....Here in Palm Coast they had to evacuate most of the town because of the fires about 10 years ago. I did not live here then, but some of my friends did and they told me stories of not being able to get back to the house to know if it was burned down or not....not fun!

Those fires in New Smyrna had me worried last year, not a good feeling to look out the window and see billowing smoke above the trees.

Now that the winds have changed it is worse here in Palm Coast today vs. yesterday...it is so thick that I am bothered by it...and I don't have any allergies or anything

I think we're gonna be surrounded by smoke for a while.  They got 13,000 acres down south going hot and heavy too. Had to close the ally to motorist.

Naples Daily News

"The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire........We don't need no water let the muther effer burn!"

I am sitting in my office (very rare occason) watching it pour down rain and completely destroy the whole 6 1/2 feet of visibility the smoke was was giving me. I can literally see maybe 4 feet out the window.......

The smoke made it all the way to Boca today, looks really hazy even with no clouds.........
smells nasty too, doesn't it, so much for the health benefits from not smoking.

Lucky you, it's all back over here.
On the plus side, that damn barky little chihuahua next door is starting to sound a little raspy.
