Hows it going everyone?? well I have a question about what kind of setup this is...

http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/237926

I know this is a hard but does anyone know what kind of setup this is? does it have a lift? what size tires does it have I know its not going to be a perfect estimate but I really like this setup and would like to do it to my Av.. ANy information that anyone has on it I would truely appreciate... thanks in advance...

That is actually one of the Test Avalanches...or prototypes. I'll have to search, but there is a thread on it. I don't think it's lifted. It has specially made wheels and rubber to fit those wheels.

Lemme do some research and find the article on it. Anyone know where this thread was?

edit... mud beat me

The AV in that pic is not lifted, and it is not exactly stock.. >:D

the pic of the AV posted on that sit is the concept avalanche, and does not have a lift kit. It is not stock as there are many things it features that did not make production.

Thanks hope you find that article mud bug. This is a sweet ass ride.. If this is a special setup what do u think would compensate for it? The reason I am asking is because I live in Miami Fl and Everyone has 22's and up and its become boring to me... I want to set my Av apart from the crowd all while not putting a giant whole in my pocket... Since I live in Miami Offroading wil be kept to a minimum but anything is possible with the right set of tools. What should I do If I want to go for the offroad look but without spending hundreds of dollars on a lift kit?? I have thought of torsion bars and a ford key setup but what kind of tires would fit with this setup alone?? Thanks for your time and hope to hear from you all soon..

Adrian,

do a search buddy, this has all been discussed. HHAHA...sorry inside joke.

Ok, for minimal lift...ford keys or body lift will do.

Grey has a bodylift and some big meats, I'll let him give you some info on that one. Great rig he has there.

Ford keys - well, won't be able to fit as large as a b/l, but will defintelly be able to get some larger than stock.

It's a tough call. Everything you'd really want to do will put a nice dent in y our wallet. But you have the largest congregation of AV's here on this site. You will be able to find some deals.

But basic price run down from my research:

b/l - 360.00 w/gap guards (cheapest I've found on the net)
Install set you back another 300 or find someone to do it.
Rims/Tires - No less than a grand for a NICE set. But check ebay. I found my rims brand new. 465.00 all 4. 560.00 shipped. Retail you probablly couldn't get 2 for that price. Depending where you looked at that time.

Suspension - approx. 1400.00+ Plus install. (700.00 or so)

do a little research and see what you want. But don't be afraid to ask questions. Even though they may be posted in other threads. We'll be glad to help...

edit... mud beat me again... :2:
thanks for the compliment on the truck bud.... :-[

you could do a 3" body lift, mine cost me $620 plus tax installed.
Suspension lifts will run just shy of 2g's installed on average (although some have gotten them installed for 1500.... 2g's seems to be the norm on the board.

here is a pic of my AV the day after I got it home from the body lift being put on. Stock rims and tires on it.

Thanks guys..
I really like the setup of that orange Av.. If you had to guess on tires size what would it be?? Maybe 285-60-18?? does that seem right? that would make it 31.5 inches.. Does that seem right for a stock Av? I would like to level the Av out buy using the torsion bars and then get some nice meet on some 18 or 17 inch wheels.
i have though about the 3 inch body lift but it is very involved such as moving parts up and things like that.. I would like to try the torsion bars first and if that doesnt do it then I would go for the 3 inch BL... If you could help me out with that tire size I would appreciate it..
thanks
Adrian

P/s
Where exactly do I get ford keys?? and are they made by anyone else? cause I hate Ford... Lol does fabtech make them or anyone?? Thanks

Has anyone been able to find the tire size?? Can anyone take a guess?? Whats the biggest tires anyone has put on a stock height Avalanche?? thanks for the info...
