Good news for Av owners (especially the 8.1L folks):

Oil tumbles on Iraq inspection hopes

Pressure off OPEC to meet demands for extra oil

LONDON, Sept. 17 ? World oil prices fell two percent on Tuesday after Iraq agreed to allow United Nations weapons inspectors to return and said the pretexts for a U.S. attack were thwarted.

That is good news!!
I have the 5.3 but I still don't like seeing the dollars topping the $45 mark at the pumps.

I filled up yesterday at $1.40/gallon!!! That's the lowest I've paid in a long time... I've been filling up for $1.52-$1.56/gallon.

David

Last tank was at a $1.19 a gallon. >:D

Sure beats what we paid in Yreka and Eureka for gas on Wild West 2002 - $1.85 to $1.89 a gallon for 87 octane. YIKES!

Kid yourself! That's what we do.

We drive two 3 series BMW's in addition to the av. they hold appx 15 1/2 gal; about one-half the av capacity. Soooooo, we fill up when we hit the half full mark on the av, buying the same amount as needed to (fill) up the cars. Doesn't seem any different that way. ;D

Like I said, you're kidding yourself, but it helps!

Here in Sacramento, the capital of the People's Republic of California, unleaded is $1.52 at Exxon.
I hear that the city government of Santa Cruz is giving out pot today.
We just passed AB1498 trying to reduce carbon dioxide which is normally produced by trees, but on the other hand, they give out free pot in Santa Cruz. Have we got our priorities wrong or what?

Still haven't seen any relief in site yet...but on the flip side of that coin, I have also seen it a lot higher than it is now...I'm pumping regular into the AV...on average of about $1.35 a gallon...not to bad, but lower prices would be welcomed with open arms.... :B:

Isn't it silly that the gas is still advertised with the .9 cents at the end? Like I really care whether it is $1.17 and $1.18 a gallon! Just round it up and stop playing games.

PS - does this mean that the gas will fall about 2 to 3 cents a gallon now?

Yep, now if the Yanks would do the 'right' thing and put an administrator in to run the country then we would benefit even further from a steady supply. >:D

Definitely good to hear. It's not too bad here in northeastern Ohio though. Around 1.25-1.30 for the past few months.
But as it's getting cooler I'm driving the motorcycle less, so my mpg goes from 45 to 17 :6:

Zimm,

At least you are getting 17. I average 13-14 on my weekly commute, with the best I have seen at 15.65 on a trip to Michigan and back and that was all HWY

Phhh!!! New York sucks! Still at $1.50, and going up, not down!

You guys should live here in the South. Gas prices are not as bad as everywhere else. I just filled for $1.15 per gallon. ;D

I guess you'll be spending a lot more time at the Petrol Station now Skidd, might wanna try to get a sponsorship deal with Mobil or BP to offset costs.
I get discount fuel through Scotcher Petroleum and MOTREX (Mobil Fuels) for racing as they sponsor me, I think I'm gonna need it once I order my AV.

So Calif 87 octane is running around 1.45. I run supreme in my AV, advanced timing and that is 1.65 a gallon. I liked the 8.1 so much my wife now has a new suburban with the 8.1 also.

That was the good news.

The bad news is gas is back up over $1.50 a gallon and rising.

How about that club member from Scotland with gas at over $6.00 a gallon.

Maybe the news isn't so bad after all!!!

But the single malt is a lot cheaper there!
