I see maybe 20 dollars worth of tubing and thin gauge plate and a $45 generic K & N filter, what am I missing?
Sorry guys, but Am I the only one who feels like the little kid in 'The Emporers new clothes' here
When I go back on the 5th, I'm gonna go make one at work, (out of 304 Stainless steel no less!) and also do a full perimeter weld rather than tack it in 2 or 3 places.
I've made similar systems before for 5.0's, 300hp Blown Hondas and GM F-bodys (I used to work for SLP), it's no big deal to do. Generic cone filters can be found in any K&N catalog.
I don't mean to 'Lick the red off anyones candy' here, but I see at least a 300% profit for whoever is building these things. I don't mind paying a fair price for goods and services but I don't want to feel like I'm personally funding somebody's 401-k plan at the same time!
I work too hard for my $$$ to pay that kind of price for so little work, I suspect a lot of you do as well.
