Has anyone added a weather-strip to the front under surface of the hood? Every time it rains I get water spots in my engine compartment. It seems that a weather-strip on the front under surface of the hood or on the black plastic radiator shroud would minimize this. I've been lurking for awhile, great club. This is my first post, hope I did it correctly.

Hmmmmmm......if you are driving in the rain you the water from the road will wind up in engine compartment too...so I am not sure how this seal would help......

PS Welcome to the club

Most of the waterspots that bug me (that I have to wipe off) start on the black radiator shroud & seem to come from the front hood gap. I don't worry to much about the lower sides of the engine compartment. I'm not sure how big of a gap the weather-strip would have to span at the front but it seems fairly tight.

Hmmmmmmm....so you want to stop when driving.....that would be tough.....

DO you have or want bug deflector?

It seems to help a bit......but not perfect...

Also if I remember back....I think someone long long long time ago did something like what you want.....maybe way back in 2002......I am not sure....but something tells me someone mentioned this...

Good luck

Thanks, ygmn but I like the look of the front end without the bug deflector. There are 5 stamped holes (4 diamond 1 square) on the front underside of the hood, these could be used to attach a w/strip if it had the right fasteners. Does anyone know what they are used for? I'll try to attach a pic.

Go to pep boys or other local autoparts store...and buy some weather strip which has flat base and glue to hood....make sure it is round cross section so it will smoosh....when shut.....

PS is SMOOSH a word?
