;D !! Hello You Modders !! ;D

Just wanted to get your opinion on my shiny shiny wax (the Sun's almost TOO bright for the photo!) job and new sail panels... & gr8 :0:

Mother's or McGuires seem to work the best for me... As for the Sail panels, I'm not opposed to starting up a little manufacturing operation and a club store in efforts to sell them. There are a few ways to install them. I like the single side exterior method. This way, you surround the inner exterior with Polyurethane tubbing.

Could be lots of work, but wow they do look great... and aesthetically, it gives our truck a bigger appearance!

That's the nicest sail pannl setup that I have seen and one of the first that really smooths the look of the AV. Great job!!!

Your Sail Panels look good, I would like to talk to you about how you are mounting them and maybe make some deal.

I have a plastic company here in San Antonio making the prototype for the Sail Panels right now. It will be a single piece of 3/16" plastic on the front (like your seem to be) and a molded piece in the back. The samples should be ready later this week, and I will be looking for Bata testers, I will need 4 total, let me know if you want to test them for me. I am hoping to sale them for $60.00 for the set with $5.00 per sale going to the group for the web site. I should have more information later this week with pictures.

GMAN

If you're still looking for a lab rat, count me in! I have an onyx black Av and have been looking for a way of filling in that "opera window"

You make em' and Ill buy em'................ Are they ready yet >:D

hi miles m, got change here.

yep the sail panel inserts do add to the look, and i think, a little aerodynamic help too.

I have mailed a cardboard template of my plexi inserts all over the country, and even too hawaii.

mine are real simple, they just silicone in from behind in about 5 minutes.

a few avrs have private messaged me and finally i made a batch of 1/8 plexi sail windows.

The people, have contacted me on private message, and i have given out a few sets, for 30 bucks, in the mail the same day.

once I get up to 10 sets, 20 windows, im gonna "donate" at least 30 bucks to the club.

if you look up a couple topics here on accessories, and modifications. go to ...my av is equipped to mod your av, while you wait

I have met a few avrs in person, to pass this mod along, at the friendly rate, and enjoy sharing mod ideas.

send a pic of yours when you finish them up, its a nice inexpensive, and easy mod.....keep thinking of mods

got change

miles m, heres a pix of got changes sail panel window.

simple, just silicone em in, and the basic look of the av sail panel is unchanged

got change

and miles m, here is a pix from the backside of the av sailpanel.

no insert, no gasket, just a bead of silicone to pit em in.

they HAVE been tested at 98 mph, on several occasions

I took em out one time, and could wipe the silicone off with my fingers, and leave no trace, that the windows were ever in!!!

Hey Arrival Mike, if you still need some beta testers, Count me in!! :B:

I had a thought recently about these sail panels (maybe not new but haven't seen it mentioned). Regardless of how you choose to mount them, if you used two pieces of plexie you could put something of your choosing between them. Pictures, decals, purple neon glow foil, all up to you. :0:

OK folks, as I promised, here are my "CLOSE UP" pictures of the Miles_M sail panels... ;D

Materials Listing -
  • 3/16" of an inch smoke plexi-glass w/limo custom tinting

ADDED: I have also tested the air speed of these going 119 Mph on highway - Absolutely know problems at all...

The true test is when my fianc? and I, move me to California next month! (1900 miles from Dallas, TX to San Francisco) Obviously, the panels will then be exposed to various climates and weather patterns to determine it's true strengths!

 VERY COOL !!
THANKS FOR THE PICTURES!!

GOTTA HAV' EM -

BETA TESTER FOR THE NORTHEAST WINTERS- PRESENT AND WAITING!!

LET ME KNOW HOW I CAN HELP!

PEACE

It was on US 75 North (but don't tell!) :-X I had to slow down @ 119 because of traffic... I'm glad I did.. because I almost had the urge to tap my little red button... ;D

red button... ? what exactly is that if i might ask...
Think of the original Men In Black movie...

"Don't ever touch the red button, son!"

And later...

"Remember that red button?"
"Yes"
"Press it now!"
