How Do I Install A Tag On The Front Bumper?

I was planning to install a tag (actually a club insignia) on the front bumper but there are no holes for the screws. My state doesn't require a state tag up front, so I'm assuming this is the reason why there is no provision for it. After talking to one dealer I was told there is a bracket for it but he couldn't find the number. Another dealer told me that there is not such a thing.
Can anyone shed some light on the subject ???

I don't have a bracket. There's a dealer plate still on mine, but I haven't looked behind it to see if there are drilled holes or what. :cautious: ???

Mine's just screwed into the front bumper cladding. Came that way from the dealer with an ugly dealer tag on the front. But as front tags are required in Colorado, that didn't last long. But, no special bracket, no plastic inserts . . . just coarse threaded screws directly into the gray bumper cladding.

Thanks guys. It looks like that I have to line up the tag, drill 4 holes and screw the tag. It seems pretty cheap way to do it. On my Dodge I ordered a bracket tha could incorporated the tag and give it a more finished look.

I"m in Florida and we don't have a front tag either, but there were a couple of "dimples" in my cladding. I drilled small holes there and used stainless steel bolts, washers, lock washers and nuts. I used a plate frame and capped the bolts with bolt covers. Came out great. I felt the nut/bolt would be more secure than the coarse threading thru the cladding.

No laws here in Tennessee either. I have had my tag on the front of my truck since the 2nd day. I too saw the 4 dimples and just used the coarse screws to put the tag on the front. Although I didn`t use a drill. The plastic is soft enough that I just helped the screws make a new home in the dimples.

I believe the bracket you mentioned is for the 2500 as it has different front bumper cladding. ???

If you guys are looking for a more professional and secure way you could goto the local auto parts store and buy rubber tag holders. All you have to do is drill two 1/2" holes and push the rubber buttons in and use 7/16" SS bolts to screw into them...as you tighten the bolts the rubber expands and holds tight. Only problem is if you ever decide to remove it you can leave the rubbers in; if not you have to big holes. Just some advice.
