Easy question to answer really.

Chevy (GM) will continue making the Av as long as people buy them. Whether they have cladding, no cladding or all cladding, they will make them if they're selling the heck out of them.

Buy one to make sure they keep making 'me >:D and if you already own one, buy another.

I think this is the reason why Chevy wanted to go without the cladding for 03'..they probably felt that most folks were kinda on the fence regarding the cladding and were turned off....this way Chevy drops the cladding, makes it an option...and walllllaaa! Grab the interest of all the consumers and generate interest.... :B:

It's curious that Chevrolet is making a big deal out of the cladding when it is so popular. Jeep has had cladding for years on the Grand Cherokee and Surbaru has just come out with a mini-AV, with cladding. Chevrolet tested the new front design on the Av and then put it on the new pickups for 03. The midgate will be going into the Envoy. The Av might be a test platform for new concepts. I can live with that.

I actually like the Av Light, but I prefer the cladded version, not only for looks but for its functionality. The "wbh" is just a bit too pedestrian looking for me. Many people with pick-ups cover the lower rocker panel area with adhesive backed chrome or stainless pieces for protection. Once they are on, they're stuck for good. The other option is to re-paint that area when it gets ratty looking. I'll keep my cladding, thank you.

I like my AV with the cladding, I like the look of the AV with No Cladding, but I don't think I would want one. They look too much like the Silverado Quad Cab. My AV looks like an AV coming down the road, not a silverado and that is the way I want it. I think Chevy has a hit with the AV. Hopefully they will ask the current AV owners what they would like changed and change it. Instead of listening to all the people that wouldn never buy one anyway. A lot of people just like to gripe about something new.

Amen on the gripers. I bet most of them drive 150's.

Not many of the people who don't like it consider how functional it really is. They just think it looks different.

Thank goodness it looks different!
