And for anyone whom might be interested in building a Mid-Deck Mod with factory color matched carpet, I went back through my old emails and found the company I used to source the carpet for both of mine.

I bought my carpet for both of my Mid-Deck Mods from Stockinteriours.com

In addition to fully molded replacement carpets, they also carry carpet in bulk.

For each of my projects, I bought 2 yards of bulk carpet at a total cost of near $135 with shipping each.

Shipment was fast and quality is top notch.

Check them out for all of your replacement carpet and interior needs.

And according to my emails, the Mid-Deck Mod in my EXT was built in 2014 and the one for my Avalanche was built in early 2020.

With the use they have both been given over the years, they show no signs of wear.

I have a quilt & a pillow, as I take a lunchtime nap at work most days (Unless its -20C or lower) on the back seat.

I was thinking of using some old shag carpet from the seventies.

The holes I mentioned in my post above allow the rubber bump stops on the upper area of the seat backs to pass through the board.

Although, the way the rearmost edge of the boards mesh with the cutouts of the mid-gate probably do more to align the boards into place.

When the boards are wrapped in carpet as shown in my pictures, the two board pieces rest rather firmly in place.

At least firmly enough, even though there may be some slight movement.

But, hardly enough to be concerned with.

I've never given any movement any thought.

And no, there are no additional underpinnings or connections between the boards and the seat backs.

What you see in the pictures is what you get.

Not to say you could not add some if you felt the need.

I have just not ever felt the need.

If the single board version was built instead of the 60/40 version, I am sure that configuration would be even least likely to move.

I just prefer the versatility of the 60/40 version.

Thanks for that. I thought it was a silly question because I could see there wasn't, but no harm asking.
Similar to Wingo I have my seats folded down and loaded with tool boxes, dewalt cordless tools, torque wrenches of many sizes, blankets, oil for the thick dinosaur juice loving big block, windshield washing fluid, funnels, jackets that never get used winter or summer, and various parts for stuff around here I buy and never get around to installing until I forget what the part was for. There's probably more stuff back there I can't find.

For the Drive - Inn, I use the midgate and a couple times in the canyons since, but it's usually configured for back seat use.
