I do it, you do it, heck, we all do it. I was just wondering how many members found us and joined in because they were tagged?

I found this place via a search engine a long time ago. I think many folks found us that way.

If you joined because you were tagged, chime in and let us know our efforts are worth while.

I have tagged only about 20, and 3 of them joined as a result.. I found the site like you, as a result of a search engine..

I've tagged at least 20-30 AV's in and around Jacksonville and where ever I go.

I have yet to see any of them sign on and say they were tagged by me...Wonder what I'm doing wrong?

I will say this though...It's not going to stop me...I'll keep tagging until we run out of paper if I have to.

If you are trying to get a Chapter going in your area... YOU MUST TAG ANY AND ALL AVALANCHES in the area.

Tag them all and they will come!!

I have tagged probably 50 AVs , and as far as I know, not 1 of them have ever joined the site. I will continue to tag, but think most people find it with the search engine

"So the other day my wife and I pull into the Outback Steakhouse parking lot and this shirtless guy comes running up with a shark in one hand and a beer in the other and says that he needs to give me something. We ran. We ran like the wind".

I have tagged numerous, probably 30 or more AVs in the Baton Rouge to New Orleans area. I only know of one who has joined this website. I will still continue to tag even though it doesn't seem to do a lot of good.

Hey, I know that guy.....He's cool as heck!!! (y) (y)

I have tagged quite a few, and yet to see any new members from it. Doesn't mean it isn't working, just they haven't found the post yet. ;D

I've tagged about 30 and only got 1 :E: I'll keep tagging till I see amber lights on all AVs ;D

(y) Heck I have tagged a good 30 in Virginia Beach and have not seen one new member here. :6:

From out partner Burst Media and their member survey:

How did you find our site? 644 response of 822 surveys completed:

From search engines 65%
Through the (non banner) links 7%
From an offline AD 2%
In articles 5%
Web Yellow pages 0%
Internet ad banners 6%
Recommended by friends 16%
E-mail promotions 1%

I would bet money that the 2% who found us through "offline ad" are folks that stumbled into the site by being tagged. I would also bet money that a percentage of those recommended by friends are also tagged. I say the offline ad with full confidence because we have never done offline advertising that I am aware of (unless a local club is) other than through member tagging. It works but like all advertising it is a numbers game. I've probably tagged 75 to 100 through my life and know of only 2 or 3 that are members because they got a tag from me.

I guess I find it odd that after 124 reads (so far) and 12 responses, that no body has claimed to be here because of tagging.

I don't intend to stop tagging, nor am I suggesting others stop, but it doesn't appear to be doing much good. :(

I know of at least one whom I've tagged joined. It took a while before he mentioned how he found out about the club though. I would imagine that that is frequently the case. I am continually surprised how many folks sign up for a Supporting Membership or donate to the club yet have a very low or zero post count.

*Note: "Just kiddin dude" added since a) I am just kidding and b) I'm pretty sure that despite my size advantage, Hangman could pretty much kick my a**.
;)

I don't know how many I've tagged, but tis a fair amount . . . . . almost since the Club started AND before we had a brochure. I would write something up on a piece of paper, in the early days.

Occasionally, I also place ads in the company paper where I work. It has over 65,000 employees worldwide. There are more than a handful of Avs where I work, but I can't physically tag them, due to security regs. So, that's one of the reasons I end up using the company paper.
