Hello everyone,
I have 07 Av with : K&N Intake, Poweraid TB Spacer, & Magnaflow Catback Installed currently.

I own HPTUNERS standard, and have had it for quite some time, but honestly I feel like when I mess with it, I just make the car slower...,  I was wondering if anyone on here has tuned there 5.3L 07 with HPT and could give me some pointers ?

I have considered purschasing a Nelson Tune for my HPT but I am reluctant to buy a mail order tune since I bought HPT it just doesnt make sense...I would have rather bought a super chip.

you can start with torque management.Would need a wideband to set the power enrichment.

Post or e-mail the stock and your modified file I'm sure Flabouy would love to have a look at it. >:D

No thanks, ... I already have one.....

I have two trucks going right now in my spare time....  but, I did find another tuner here in town that drives a 05 SS Silvy.... (y) he tunes with HPT and does a lot of turbos and blown s/c rigs...he is the guy who helped me install my 65E....

Ok Here is the STOCK Tune I just Read VCM this morning with the updated HPTuner Software. My truck has the locker diff, K&N Intake, 3inch Magnaflow Catback, & Poweraid TB Spacer.

Here is a quick log, I didn't have much time, but I did a idle and then punched it WOT 1st - 2nd.

Any Help is Appreciated.

open file.
go to engine, then to fuel control, then to power enrich.

1-set Delay RPM around 2000-2500 instead of 5000.
2-Pe enable TPS from 87 to 70.
3-Power enrichment at EQ Ratio VS RPM,everything at 1.14(safe level).
4-enrichment rate from 0.050 to 4.

engine Torque management.
go to engine, then to torque management, then to engine torque.
1-go to torque reduction table. 0 every thing.

trans. Torque management.
go to trans, then to torque management.
1-abuse mode ,torque reduction table, 0 every thing.
2-reduction duration, 0 every thing.
3-torque reduction normal,performance & downshift table. 0 everything.

Transmission torque converter.
go to trans, then to auto TCC.
1-TCC duty Cycle. minimum,set everything at 90.
2-TCC duty Cycle. Maximum,set everything to 100.

Should install a Vette 1-2 Servo.and play with the shift pressure and speed MPH to your liking

You can play with the timing table a bit.But It will depend on what kind of fuel your running.
I'm sure you can copy the low octane table at 0.64 .and paste it at 0.68 to 0.80.

For the speed limiter.
go to speedo, then go to speedlimiter.
1-set source from GMLAN to calibration.
2-Speed limiter 1 and speed limiter 2 to 150MPH.

Their's also some transmission upshift speed and RPM to change if you want the trans to shift in overdrive at? WOT.

This should be pretty safe for a mild AV. But the VE and Maf should be looked into.

Good luck.

For Enrichment Rate it only allows me to set it to 2.0 max You told me to set it to 4 from the stock .05 ? . And For Timing the Low or High Maps arent decimals like .64 there whole numbers

I guess the 07 is max at 2.
set it at 2.

For the timing table. It would be at line Cylinder Airmass 0.64.
Example? the maximum timing at that line is 15 from 3000 to3800.

For mine, Hi octane is 24 from 2800 to 5600.

For the timing rable,It will be something for you to play with, depends on what kind of fuel your running,if you haul a trailer,weather.etc.. You would have to log the truck to see if you have any KR at mid to hi load.

By the way,I learned this by Flabouy  :beating:

Im having a hard time with the timing, but I appreciate you trying to help...It just a little difficult to understand what exacltly to change on the LOW and High Octane.....Whats the basic parameters..people set their tables? for like low or high....how does the truck know what octane? Im guessing by knock detection?

The Timing Table Shows RPM, Degrees, and Airmass which is the decimals...

With that said, how do you tell what is WOT..with Airmass.

For a stock 5.3L
It's around .72 to .80.

You can log the truck with the scanner,go for a spin, run the main spark histogram or the main spark knock retard.Do a WOT run.

This is all very good info for someone starting out  (y)

- What effect does changing the TCC duty cycle under "transmission" have on the transmission?
- Has anyone messed with DOD and DFCO to help with getting better gas mileage?

I was able to pick up a few MPG increase with my HD truck by playing with DFCO and allowing it to turn "on" more often.

I still have a lot to learn about the tranny and was wondering the samething.  Especially since the stock numbers are single digit!
I have gained 2-3mpg by upping the max throttle and lowering the disable and enable vacuum tables by up to 4.  The biggest change came when I bumped up the timing by 1-2 but had to back that off until I can figure out a new KR issue.  I have come to the conclusion that with DOD and DFCO only one can be on at a time.
