Ok, here's the deal. I was out at the storage unit today and I turned the key to ACC so that I could listen to the radio. Well, about 5 minutes later, I was listening to something else. The fan that blows the heater/AC. I turned the key off and it kept going. I then turned the fan know to off and it still kept going. No matter what I did, it kept running, and I couldn't control the speed of the fan or the temp. So, I drove home (fan still running with the knob in the off position) and parked it and went inside. I came back out about an hour later and it was still running. So, I disconnected the battery for about an hour and when I reconnected it, everything worked the way it should. If it happens again, I'm gonna go visit the dealership. So, has anybody had this problem?

See if you can make it do it again,... that way the dealer will have something to work with. If your dealer is close by, get it to do it and take it directly to them. There is nothing harder to fix than an intermittant problem if it can't be duplicated...

:help: The above post from 2004 but it's the only one I could find that mirrors the problem as I just had this morning.

Yesterday a friend changed my oil and reset the oil life.  About an hour later I ran an errand in my truck and came back, shut it off, no problem.  This morning my husband went to work around 5 and he could hear the heater/AC fan running.  He started it OK but after he shut it off the fan was still running.  I got up a few hours later and it was still running but when I tried to start it it clicked.  Battery was dying.  There were no lights on for the heat/AC display but I tried hitting the off anyway but nothing.  THEN my CD player started clicking like it was changing disks, stock 6 changer.  It also had no lights on the display.
No one else was home and one one to jump it so it sat and ran the battery down.  Dumb me didn't think to disable the battery.
I called my service adviser and he said something about the fan clutch and for me to jump it and bring it up.  Now I'm no mechanic, but that just didn't seem right to me.  Especially since the CD player did it's little haunter thing.  I'll get it jumped tomorrow and if all works like the post below the issue should be fixed.  I'd like to know if anyone else has had anything like this happen and if they narrowed it down to how it happened.  I want to make sure it doesn't happen again.  Thanks all.
