I would like to purchase a Performance MOD $400 tops.....My goal is to improve on the dead start exceleration. Of my Z71, 1500, 2003

Ive seen it discussed here to no end..........BUT THATS THE PROBLEM!!! So many Different opinions!! Do I get a SUPERCHIP, or a HPP3, or the K&N Air Intake system or do I upgrade my exhaust? I would appreciate some knowledgeble help.

Thanks

George

gregas,,,

Hi ... I hate to say it, but $400 is not gonna be ?the magic amount to cure your urge!

Also, I don't think there is a mod (other than a supercharger or nitrous that is gonna make the 1500 av an animal out of the hole) ... We got what we got ... ?:6:

Now if it's HP you want, and noise is not an issue, start with a straight through single 3" cat back exhaust and then plan on a programmer (not superchips) and possibly an aem intake... They seem to be the best of the designs ... Also, a set of Taylor Thundervolt 50 wires seem to help response ...

On another note, if you have your 1500 at a stop light and you go from 500 rpm idle to smashing it to the floor, it WILL lag... Try rolling in to the gas so you are floored by about 10 mph ... BIG BIG difference ...

11H! have you begun to change your views on aftermarket intakes? Your argument that the stock intakes was about as good as you could get really convinced me... and now you go and recommend "possibly" and aem intake? What about the aem makes it better than the rest or better than stock?

Rewbob, you need a spanking ! ... ?>:D

I just replied in the aem installed thread to Z66Butch the same question ! ... Go read it man !

And Read Here !

... Just funnin' ya man ... But read it !

11H has hit it on the head for lagging and the cure. I noticed the largest difference with the Volant cold air box [closed] [which carries lifetime warranty] coupled with the CORSA exhaust system. I have still not been really able to appreciate how much difference it made in performance and I was unbelieveeably skeptical before I bought it and even when I first installed. It ha proven to be priceless for the change in performance. And, $400.00 will NOT come close to you getting what you want so start saving and do your research and then make the "investment" and spend your bux wisely. You can find ANYTHING in this club threads if you are willing to be patient and search and read and heed. Some of these guys.gals are increible with the tips and help and knowledge base. Happy modding and welcome. We all started out confused.

Thanks All for your help,

George
