I turned them to where they only show two threads on each side but I still don't see a difference. The pic is after I cranked it... Did I do it right?

Where were they at when you started? From what I understand, they can be kinda cranked from the factory. Mine were able to be cranked quite a bit, but I had the lift installed.

Beautiful AV by the way, I have always loved Red.

The bolts were almost flush with the edge of the bar they are bolted into (if that makes sense). I turned them both till they showed 4 threads and drove it...still no difference. So I turned them both again till they showed 2 threads and drove...no difference. All my measurements ready 6" from the top of the wheel to the wheel well, Before, during and after :E:

It's been two days since I've turned them and the height still hasn't changed :8:

Thanks for the compliment on the color. My wife picked it out ;D

GaAv,
I don't know but I turned mine 2 full turns and could tell a difference. Do you know someone at a shop or someone close to you from the site that might be able to stop and help. If you turned it it should have went up, not sure why it didn't ??? doesn't make sence :E: Good luck ;)

Jack it up with the front wheels off of the ground and crank those last 2 threads. Take it in and get a alignment when you are done!

I'll try that butch, thanks.

I have a question about leveling the front end. I've read all the pros and cons of adjusting the torsion bars. I've read about changing over to Ford keys. I am interested to know more about these coil spacers. Has anyone used them before. This website says they will work on the Av.

Those would work great if the Av had coils in the front. The Av and all other Chevy full size trucks use torsion bars in the front. You can think of them as stretched out coils. The do the same thing, but personally I would rather have coils. There are some threads abotu a coil-over setup that could be cool, but probably really expensive.

Thanks Bekind. You are right I could sworn I had coils in the front. Been waaay to long since I been under my truck. Thanks.

Irontrain, its good to see you posting again! Are you getting better?

GaAv,
For what it's worth, I know there have been threads that said the 03's and 04's have less threads showing on the bolts, I haven't adjusted mine yet, but they stick out at least a half an inch out of the crossmember. I have A LOT of threads showing. I am still concerned with cranking them up, I am wondering if this will cause a decrease in the gas mileage. Would this change the aerodynamics enough to decrease the MPG???Can anyone answer that or for those that have done it did you notice a difference? ???

thanks

How hard is it to adjust them? It's just jacking the front up, then (is there a locking bolt or something?) and then cranking them a couple of turns? ???

How much does it through off the alignment?

I did not even jack mine up. Just reached under w/ a ratchet. No locking bolt .I cranked mine an raised the fron about 1 1/2" Yes, you should get it realigned. Of course, a week after I did it, I decided to get the lift kit anyhow

I did mine a couple of months ago. You just turn the bolts (which are located on the undercarriage in the area underneath the front seats) until you get the height you want. I turned mine about 4 complete turns each and got about 1 1/2 inches up on the front end. The alignment was off a little, enough that I had to get a $45 alignment :E: damn that's good mod money down the tubes! :E: You can always turn the bolts then drop the front end and measure to see if you need more. Good Luck!
