I am the type of person that likes to take up to spots in a large parking lot in the back. I also park intentionally far away to avoid people parking next to me. It always seems that there is that one idot that will pull next to me even when my truck in the furthest away spot. Of course, the reason why i do this is so people don?t hit my fenders with their doors.

Today at work, as I was walking to the AV to go to lunch, I notice a huge dent :8: :8: and rub right dead smack in the middle of the rear fender (of course where there is no cladding). It was probably that Phord loving :D: assmonkey parked next to me at school last night that did it . :8: :8: :8:

I?m so pissed, called my body guy and will have to get it fixed on Monday next week. Good part is now I can have him spray the bed panels with the Urethane tint i bought.

I do The Same Thing . The Midget ( princess ) gets upset at the long walks but---as some of you know --all the Damage is Her fault --other then the Minor Mistake @ AJ's Monster Truck GTG !--

BTW Sorry for you minor damage . Hope its a Cheap Fix .

That bites!!! If I pull into a parking lot and there are only a few spots, I wont park there. I'll go to another lot. Too many idiots out there that could'nt care less about other people's s*it.
Too bad you couldn't see it last night but I guess it was to dark, huh?

My wife gets mad sometimes if the weather is bad and I park far away.......... TUFF!! >:D Better to be a little wet or cold then to take a chance that some moron will totally disreguard my Avalanche.

All I can say is get it fixed like new and try not to dwell on it to much... Easier said then done.

I do the same, but Drop her off at the Entrance. Then meet her inside later.

Sometimes we use the handheld radios so we can link back up if it is a large mall and I have to search for that elusive parking space. ;D

Yea, thats what i am saying, i always drop the kid and the wife at the entrance, then park like 10miles away, but some idot seems to find my truck and parks next to it :E: :E: :E: :8:
i can't stand this. its gonna cost me $$ to fix.

Oh well.. i'm the a**hole who diagonally parks across 2 or 3 stalls, but its usually way out in the left field of the parking lot.

yea i do that here, some times, but you got to watchout, b/c people will key your ride for that poop in NJ and NY

I can see I'm not the only one who has parking issues! Man, I hate stupid people. Hey jtblue, don't think about the $$. Think about how good it will look when it's fixed........... Damn, I'm trying to help but I know how you feel :E:

Yea, its cool, thanks for all the support... its funny, when things happen to this truck, it makes the day suck.. Im like depressed now..

I got to go take the ATV or the fatboy out for a ride this weekend to blow off some steam.

Sorry, but I don't care how far away you park nobody deserves more than one spot! And btw taking more than one spot is just asking for it (but not from me mind you, I just cuss). I always park on an end and move all the to the end up against the curb. Or overhang slightly if there is no curb. I feel your pain. Hope it's not too much $$$$ to fix.

Hey do you ever take the ATV out to paragon park in PA or are there places to ride in NJ? I go to Paragon alot but need more riding buddies cause you need at least 2 ATVs to get in.

Mike

JT, I hear ya.

Yesterday I had a rice burner make a parking space (no lines existed as I was on the end of the row), and parked little more than 6 inches from my AV. :8: I just happened to be sitting in my AV, rolled the passenger window down, and suggested to the passenger from that car he better not touch my vehicle with his door. Was hilarious watching the guy wiggle over the console and out the driver's side >:D

There is this place up in Modena NY that we were going to try this weekend, depending on the rain. its like 30 bucks to go, its about hour 20min away. go on ATVNY.com. where is this place you go to?

Nice... make him work for getting so close to the beast!

JT - Sorry to hear about your mishap, I'm the same way. I even go to work extra early to get my favorite parking spot.

I have a pet peeve about taking up more than one spot (If I can fit my AV in one spot ANYTHING short of having a trailer is possible) I don't key, as taking the low road doesn?t make me feel any better, However, when I drive my "beater" ('88 Honda, sad I know) I have been known to park WAAYYY to Close to their drivers side door (very entertaining watching them have to get in through the passenger side ;p)
My strategy is to park at one END of a strip so there in no one on at least one side of me and then hugging that side, usually leaves space for $%@#$s to open their doors without whacking my ride.
However, once I did get a shopping cart to the fender (you guessed it, right where the cladding stops) and I was way way out there, so there is no safety, just part of the hazards of driving our show trucks, if you can't handle dings, my friend you have a trailer queen.
And that would be just sad as these trucks should be seen on the roads, so just park to the end and TAKE UP ONE SPOT! :2:

My $.000002 (My two cents after state and local taxes ;) )

Believe that is referring to a "show vehicle" that almost never sees asphalt...spends its time on the show floor or trailer so as not to be "damaged"...

I went there once but there was so much snow we could not make it out of a small area around the lake. Paragon is in PA and is much bigger. So big they wont let you in by yourself I guess in case you break down. You can ride for an hour and not see anybody else on the trails. I would not mind checking out ATVNY again though. I would be good for Sunday.

Mike

were still thinkig about going, the only problem is it is supposed to rain and snow on sunday, that sucks. If we go, we are meeting up at the 1st rest stop on the thruway at 730am. but its still up in the air due to weather

If I have to park in a parking lot I will try to park between expensive or new vehicles only. If the other car has a dent in it already you know they wont give a damn about mine. Also I look for carseats and Minivans. These vehicles usually contain kids who could care less about my doors. Any other pointers on parking would be greatly appreciated.
