I Hit My Trash Dumpster!

I was backing out of my driveway yesterday...and I had my two kids in the truck. We had a sprinkler system installed and where we usually put the trash dumpster on the lawn grass seed has been put down. So, the dumpster is placed at the end of the driveway on the left side...when I back out of my driveway i use my right mirror to follow the driveway...as i was backing out and chatting with my girls...i hear this "THUMP"...i seem a bit puzzled then thought the trash dumpster! My truck was very dirty and didnt notice any damage except the cladding had a slight tear at the rear quarter panel where it comes to a point to the rearwell after the passenger door. After I dropped my daughter off at school, I went to the carwash...then came home and thought I would give it another look....UGH! There is a small barely noticable verticle 2" scratch...luckily it didnt take the paint off...but now i have my first dent...almost like a door ding! And worst of all I did it!

I feel your pain!
AV's should have a back-up warning system option. You have to use the side mirrors to back -up! There is no way to see a dumpster out the rear view.

Sorry to hear that. On the bright side - all the kids were inside the AV and not behind the AV at the time.

I am very interested in the back up cam being addressed in the A/V forum. My deductable is $500 and the cams are around $300, as soon as they are prefected I have going to spend the money now before I hit something.

Ouch . . .

The two scratches on my front bumper cladding are my fault too . . hit a shelf in the garage once, and a large rock in front of a parking space at Home Depot the other time . . .

Somehow it's even more painful when you do it yourself than when there's someone else to blame!

I am also the culprit of the Pass side mirror scratch from the garage door track.

hey on the cadalack EXT the one that looks like a avy well that has the system that u can install also on the avy it's like radar and it tells u how far back he object is so thats something to look at
