I can't stand it. I just can't stand it. :6:

Last night I'm walking up to my Av in the parking garage and I find a note under the driver's windshield wiper. Guess what? Yup - someone hit my Av in the parking garage. Now I know that I'm incredibly lucky that they left a note and a phone number and it is greatly appreciated but how much bad luck can one person have.

They said they didn't think it was damaged, and in the poor lighting I can see how they got that initial impression. Well other than the big white and black scuff mark that goes from the license plate to the drivers fender and the cut in the front cladding, nah - there isn't any damage. UGH!!!! :6:

So now my front bumper, rear bumper, and drivers side rear quarter is damaged.

:0: If I can keep this up I figure in six months I can replace all of my lower cladding with the 2003 color that matches the interior better.

OK - that was a pathetic attempt at cheering myself up.

You should go trade that in On a 03 Chief!

Sounds like that one is cursed.

I'm extremlely sorry to hear that Chief, but look at it this way. At least they left a note. How many people in today's world leave notes when they hit a car?

Unfortunately I don't think the truck is cursed :cautious: Except for this site, I think I can safely say that 2002 has been a real trying time for the Chief

Don't worry about it Chief. They left a note so you can arrange to have it fixed. If your truck is going to get hit, thank god it got hit by an honest person. (y)

Chief, sorry to hear about your Av getting hit. At least they left their name and phone number. I hope that 2003 will be a banner year for you (y) ;D You have had your share of problems this year

Chief sorry to hear. I had a Saturn that was jinxed like that. First year I owned was in the body shop 5 times (non were my fault). I only owned it one year and had bought it new. Not sure what ever became of that car but hope the next guy had better luck with it.

Ug . . . sorry to hear about your latest 'incident' Chief - but I like your dark cladding idea! Hopefully you can get it fixed up with minimal frustration.

So far, the only damage to my cladding was self-inflicted upon meeting a big rock

And indeed . . . our best wishes for the holidays and 2003!

Merry Christmas Chief.

I feel your pain, been there myself. :(

At least they left a note.

Geez Chief, maybe word is finally getting around about who runs this place. :)

I had a 91 Sonoma that got rear ended 4 times, got backed into, hit... I swear it had a target on it. All the time someone would be running into it. Once I got rid of it, I haven't had that problem again.

I feel your pain. get her for everything you can. Then get yourself a new painted ground effect kit .

Holy Moley! Sounds like the truck I traded in - I would get a flat tire almost once a month. It seemed to be a magnet for every piece of crud on the roadway.

At least the people left a note - most people around here would not. :6:

Chief,

You should think about trading it in. I think it may be cursed. I traded in a cursed Tahoe. Swear to the Almighty above. I got rear ended by a 18 wheeler, then I got it fixed. Two weeks later I got keyed in a parking lot :8:. Got it fixed. Three weeks after that....got keyed again...in a different state :7:. Got that fixed. I thought
I was done. Nope. A month later the tahoe got broken into . After all of that......two months after that...I got keyed again....in another state :8:. Finally, I had enough. She was cursed. Keyed three times in three differnt states, rear ended, broken into, all within 6 months. Traded her in for my AV......never looking back >:D. You might as well get the '03

I think you should start replacing the cladding with solid 1" rubber pieces shaped to look like cladding. You know if all cars and trucks had this it'd be like everyone had bumpercars.

I think I'm onto something here! :0:

Damn, Chief! If it wasn't for bad luck, you woudn't have any at all. Make sure you stay indoors during lightning storms!

I had a cursed Grand Am like that. Broken in to twice, broadsided the guy that pulled out in front of me in an Astro Van, got that fixed. Then was broadsided by a lady in her brand new Dodge Caravan who didn't see the light was red cuz she was playing with her new radio, got that fixed. A month later I fell asleep while driving and hit a bridge abutment head on at 65 on Cruise Control. Totaled it and myself. Owned the Grand Am six months. I was off work for a year recovering. Before I owned that car I never had an accident, and I haven't since either. It was possessed!

Hey Chief,

Sorry to hear of your latest misfortune. You are damn lucky though that this person left a note. ;D

My AV still has damage to the front bumper from a hit & run. I still can not figure out how to repair the 2 inch scuff with out replacing the bumper. :-[
It always looks dirty in that area, what a white mark I have on my AV.

hang in there chief, at least it's only a few pieces of cladding... so on, it could be alot worse, take it from me. good luck in the future! be safe.

After I got my first scratch....

(Foot-long, deep, scratch on driver's side quarter panel),

At first was real upset, after a while, got less paranoid about the " off the dealer's lot look" and now a day, dont mind a ding here , a scratch there,
after all My vehicle works for me ,,,not all the way around!!!!!

Yeah, I was gonna suggest replacing the cladding with some black rubber like the little mail trucks have--you know, they look like they're protected by 4-6" of rubber all the way around.

Either that or some Police-issue push bar--all the way around!

Hope you get some better luck with it. I guess you haven't fixed any of the other mishapped pieces yet, eh? Might as well just wait until after the national meet--just in case.

Brendan

Sorry to hear that. :cautious: How come you seem to be the one who always gets accidents? (those that aren't your fault)

At least the person was honest. Three cheers for the person who chose to be good! :D

Dave,

The poor Chief is in tears and you're wanting to bone out his Av. Let the man grieve.  :C:

BTW,

How much would you want for the Chief's old cladding painted in a nice Victory Red .....??
Well, whether they are Chief's or some other unfortunate souls cladding, to sand and paint a complete set including bed covers in an acrylic Urethane would run $3000 including the clips if I removed and installed everything. And they will be smooth, no texture at all.

At least they left a note my brother was hit a few years ago the person did leave a note this is what it said / Sorry i hit your car BUT i have no insurance and i am writing this note as there are people looking this way and think i am leaving my name and address but i ain't HA! HA!  :D: :D:
