My truck still isn't here. :C: I am so excited to get it, it has been driving me nuts. How long do these things usually take to come in>??? I was at the dealership on Thursday and the did a search and it said the truck was on a train between Mexico and Deramus(sp?), NJ. I didn't know these truck were made in Mexico in the first place. Oh well. I really hope it gets here before the weekend, otherwise I am gonna cry. If you see a Dark Grey Metallic 2500 4x4 on train or on a truck somwhere let me know! Sorry just had to vent to people that might understand. -Mat-

As far as the mexico thing

All the select few 2500 Avalanches are made in mexico

Now once you get it you will need the whipple kit like me to feel the same torque as your ford vehicles

nice setup there

Enjoy - awesome truck

Good luck

Anthony

Hang in there Mat! (y) ;D You'll be driving your new Av soon. The CT/NY/MA/NJ crew will have to have a GTG with you to celebrate! (y) ;D

"Deramus(sp?), NJ"....probably Paramus. BTW, I'm watching the trains passing thru TX ;) When I want something new I want it NOW! That's why I've never ordered one. Don't always get EXACTLY what I want though. :cautious:

Hey Matt, that train will be rolling into my job then!! Give my a holler with the train number if you can. And I will let you know when it rolls off. Might take a few days from Mexico. Usually about 3-5 days and 2 days to process once it arrives here then a transporter has to drive it out from DAS or FAPS to the dealerships.

It is deramus, NJ actually deramus avenue train yard. Largest train yard on the East Coast. After being unloaded from their it goes to a processing facility either FAPS or DAS and gettins its transporting film removed. From there it goes to Allied Transport for sorting and loading to either car carriers (the powder blue ones you see) or private transporters for delivery.

I know this cuase that is where I work.. Port Newark,NJ right across the street (deramus avenue) from the car fields.

Hi Mat,
I know how you feel. I ordered my truck on the 25th of Nov. and still haven't received it. I'm going out of my mind not to mention I already sold my other Z71 and have no wheels at the moment. If I don't get mine by the weekend the dealer is going to have to give me one from the lot. "FED UP WITH WAITING" :7: I would presume both our rigs are on the same train, except mine is a little further in Toronto area.

Have a Good One!!
Big Lou

Actually the Toraonto train would be routed threw the Chicago interchange and not through our rail yard.

Just givin whatever info I can to help fellow AVers out.

When it comes to the import/export business I have the scoop.

;)

I know here that the storm that just passed screwed with shipping and also the container ships sooo might take an extra day. Mexico to Toronto should be a 3-4 day haul from what I understand. Ask your dealer to call the shipper and find out where the train is. Most shippers that transport by rail are hook into the same sytem I belive it is the NRCSIB system. I personally only work the rail yard on rare occasions but since we are all in the same port I have phone numbers to the diffrent dept. and ask a few questions every now and then.

Well I talked to the dealer about an hour ago. They said the truck is sitting in NJ as we were speaking. Said the storm backed things up a bit. :E: Said he was gonna call down there 2morrow and maybe go pick it up for me if it is unloaded. Still not sure if I want someone driving my truck before me, but I want it BAD! What would be really nice is if it were on a truck right now and showed up at the dealer tonight. :D I can wish can't I>??? Thanks for all the info bonedog! Keep an eye out for my truck tomorrow at work. ;) -Mat-

Made in Mexico.......is that why my bed panels are always wet?

I never knew they were made there, not sure I would have bought one.

Maybe if the truck was made out of terra cotta I would feel better.
