Let me say at the outset that I am not usually one to tout a product.

That being said,? I installed the iConnect by SmartPark for my iPod today and just had to let y'all know how easy it is to install.?

It is truly plug and play, with the singular exception that it requires that some dip switches be set prior to install.

I did notice one glitch in the installation intructions, namely that the dip switch settings for my radio ( '07 Factory Nav w/ XM) were not listed,

however I found them by using a Google search.....( 1 off, 2 on, 3 on, 4 on, 5 off)

The iConnect unit attaches to the XM module, which is directly behind the glovebox, and is very easy to get to.

You will have control of the iPod through the radio controls on the XM band, and I was relieved to find that there was no interference with my

active XM account.

I've added some hyperlinks to the manufacturer's website and the place in TX that I purchased the unit from....hopefully I got them right!

I surmised from the guy at JP Customs that the price varies depending on the model year and equipment, such as XM, on your vehicle......

My price was for an '07 with factory Nav and XM, namely $219.00 plus $13.50 shipping, no tax because I don't live in the great state of Texas.... All those figures are in US Dollars......

It really is that easy to install, Cisco04....the hardest part was deciding where to locate the unit and whether or not to run the cable that attaches to the iPod itself all the way to my center console or locate it in the glovebox! ?I chose the glovebox because it is easier to run the cable to and is the only lockable interior storage, at the moment, but I plan on getting the vault mod for my center console, so maybe the iPod will end up there eventually!

One thing I have to mention about the attachment cable for the iPod is that mine was shipped with an amazingly long cable, so long that it would easily reach the center console of my Av!

Thanks y'all for the kinds words and compliments, y'all have inspired me to dive into the modding business, at least on my Av that is....

Much appreciated!

we're just glad to have you here with us this go around.  Just think of all you/we missed just because you wanted to work hard enough to retire early.

Question, I see you connected at the XM reciver, can you connect at the radio?  The reason I ask is that I like the simplicity of the system you have, but would like to have my kids use XM in the back (rear console entertainment system -2003 Avy) and I use the iPod interface at the sametime (or vice versa).

Thoughts?

Nice job!

Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated.........

:kidding:

All kidding aside, I'm not ashamed to admit I own 3 iPods..............why?  Because the storage capacity is phenomenal!  Imagine having 1000 or more songs stored on a device that takes up less space than a CD.....

Here's a quote from the manual I received with the unit: "Your iConnect is designed to work in GM vehicles from 2003 to 2007.  iConnect will automatically vary its operation to match the vehicle and accessories present.  It will operate without conflict with installations including XM, satellite receivers, CD changers or Rear Entertainment systems".

I'm not sure that answers your question, Spotty, but you might want to give the guy I dealt with at JP Customs a call, his name was Jason, and see if he has any insight regarding your question.  His telephone number is 281.533.9900 and their Hours:  9 ? 6 Mon. ? Fri.
9 ? 3 Sat. (CDT)
