I posted an idea in response to another thread and thought I would start a thread with that idea to see what y?all think about it.
I had mentioned that I wasn't all that thrilled with the new body design of the AV, like many others here and that I wanted to see what the Z71 looks like after it debuts in the fall before passing final judgement. I?m not ready to throw the baby out with the bath water just yet. Like some others here, I thought maybe a cladding option as a possibility for the Z71. If GM is smart they will present it as an option, since many hunters prefer it to prevent the ever present brush markings. Then a thought started to jell. (No, I?m not Jellin? yet). Maybe Chevy could offer a Z71 Huntsman edition. The same Z71 package that we all know and love with some cool additional badging, combination On/Off road or Off Road tires, a couple of FRS radios, a camo Avalanche cap, that sort of thing.
Then things started to get bigger. What if Chevy would put out a Z71 celebrity edition. There are Eddie Bauer, Orvis and other outfitter editions out there. Chevy could have the Z71 Ted Nugent (or other Hunting Celeb.) Huntsman (Sportsman?) Edition or something on that line. Add cladding (or WBH it), special red, white and blue badging inside and out, maybe even some special Z71 decals. Maybe something along the lines of the ones that TribaAV and Streamline Designs sell. Do the tire thing like I mentioned in the previous paragraph and include similar goodies. Caps, jackets, you name it. Cabela?s even sells soft fabric gun racks that strap to the backs of the front seats. The are so many other things that Chevy could choose from to include in the package that would make it pretty cool. It would be a great way for Chevy to reconnect with the millions in the hunting community
Think about it, The General could market it as ?The Ultimate Hunting Edition of the Ultimate Utility Vehicle endorsed by the Ultimate Hunter?. THE NUGE. God, Guns and Rock and Roll. Definitely LIKE A ROCK. I'll bet Nugent would go for it. The guy bleeds Red, White and Blue and rarely passes up an opportunity to promote the hunting sports. It would be the perfect hunting endorsement.
What do y?all think?
And if the folks at GM actually do check in here and did do this, don?t forget where you heard it. Yeah right. Like this idea would stand a snowball?s chance in hell of EVER coming to fruition. I?m not sure that the powers that be at GM have the stones to do something like this, because of the potential grief that the anti-hunting nazi?s out there might try to cause. Oh well, I thought it might be a cool idea. And it was fun putting it together.
