Just checking to see,, after reading last article on the intermediate item. On my last two GM vehicles 2000 Z71 and a 2001 Yukon i had my intermediate steering rod replaced.
When turning slow into a raised driveway or like mentioned before when driving slow and turning you would feel a clicking or tapping in steering wheel ever so slight. I knew what to look for on the 2001 so i got it changed also.
Started new post because i do not know if last on was talking about steering or drive line up front on the 4X4's.
GM is aware of the problem and has fixed it both times with no gripes. They are fixed to where they cannot be lubed and it gets down to where it is metal on metal according to the mechanic i use. Bad engineering on their part as he says it should have a way to grease it, but it does not.
Post moderator, you might want to combine these 2 if it turns out to be the same thing........was not sure.........
