I have installed an Iron Bull Front Bumper on my 2003 Avalanche Z71 (with cladding).  The bumper is awesome and very well built, but I am noticing an issue.  It seems that the front fenders hang lower than the bumper on both sides.  I have already trimmed the inner fender wells a bit, but I am unsure as of what others are doing that have installed this unit.  On the drivers side, there is another issue, the windsheild washer tank hangs really low.  This seems very vulnerable.

My only thoughts are to either:

1.) trim the fenders down and relocate/fabricate a new washer tank

2.) build steel covers for both sides to hide the ugly.

3.) Both options 1 and 2

I have emailed Iron bull about this as well.  Anyone else have any ideas?

thank you

I have full access to a very large steel fabrication shop (lasers, press brakes, etc.), so building stuff is easily done.

I would wait to see what iron bull says. That is crap that you pay all that money and then have to make modifications. If you have to manufacture some plates to cover the corners.  :B:

PS. I would also try to get a discount from the company.

I just noticed that there is a bumper specific forum. Mods...feel free to move this thread over if necessary.

No good ideas for protecting the washer bottle on my '12 either.  I just spray painted it with bed liner type stuff cuz it stands out pretty badly, at least till I either fab a cover or relocate

Hey Batman,
What happened when you contacted Iron Bull and what were your solutions for the fix?
Thanks

Just trying to reawakening this thread as I'm researching this manufacturer as well and would love to hear feedback from The Batman as to his final solution and advice he got from Iron Bull.

I don't think your odds are very good to get an answer from him. He has 4 posts and was only active on the forum for 3 days, with the last time active in September 2012. You might have better luck using his pictures and contacting Iron Bull customer service directly.

I saw the number of posts, but didn't see the days.  I sent him a PM too.  I was just hoping he might get an email notification and post an update.

I've spoken with Johnnie at Iron Bull, but just found this post in the last couple days and haven't followed up with him yet.  Dropping this much cash on a bumper means lots and lots of research for me.  Just trying to seek out all pieces of research I can find.

I built my own. Removed the washer fluid reservoir and mounted a new more cube like bottle in the second battery tray. That way I was able to cut the fender wells and trim them up to the bumper line and it looks a lot better.  (y)

Here is a good view of it

When you built your bumper did the original grill come off of the bumper easily or did you have to cut it? Looks like it's all 1 pc from the factory.
