I was on my way back to the barn (was out on a fire call) and my parents called in to the police said that a tree came down on 2 cars. I was F&$% :E: :E: :E:. When I got home, it appeared that lightning struck about 6 feet from my truck, split a pine tree all the way down to the base from the top (about 70ft) and my AV took the brunt of it, and saved my brothers car (ML430) from getting totally smashed. Driverside rear quarter panel smashed, sail panel craked in 3 places and more scratches to the tonneau covers. Still taking pics, and waiting on more storms to roll through. Downside is that my truck's battery is completely dead, so if there is something else, the only thing I can do is drag it out from under the trees w/ my diesel.

Thats HORRIBLE...I hope you have full coverage.  Glad you and your family are ok too.

Dang!  I thought I am the only one with bad luck.  Seriously, glad no one was hurt, and I hope the insurance co takes good care of you, and you get it fixed as good as new!
 
Sorry to hear that this happened to your prized Av, the Av is a family member, close and dear, but am glad that no one was injured, the Av can be repaired as good as new.  :B:
 
Sorry to hear that doesn't sound too bad for a tree falling on it, good luck with the fix.
 
Thanks everyone. Yeah hopefully I can get it fixed up pretty quick, I'm going to call the adjuster tomorrow. I'm actually very lucky, only the top 20ft of the tree where it isn't that thick fell on my truck, I think the sail got hit first and then came apart in two and one slammed into the side and the other went through my brothers windshield. Maybe I'll see if I can get some gatorback for the covers, because a new sail is going to be a little different in color than the panels.

Pics are coming! I'll have them up by the end of the day.
I was wondering if anyone can tell me where I can get an 02 Sail. The one I have can't be repaired, and my dealer said they can only get the sail in the 03-07 color, so does this mean I'm SOL.

Ask him to put on the Gatorback Coating so they are all the same color
