There's 2 people I would like to thank, for one, MissAvalanche who has graciously agreed to be the ACA moderator on the TX site....this completes the maintenance/manangement crew on the site, so everyone who has access to part or all of the site, you guys are it! If we need help I will call on those of you who have offered to help, so let me thank ya'll in advance also ?;D

I want to say a big THANK YOU to TexAVfan for making this all happen and getting us permission to park in front of the courthouse and getting the museum to open early just for us! You are one of the best!! ?

THANK YOU GANDOLPH!!!! The TX site would have been dissolved without your help. I hope in the coming days we can re-announce its opening! ;D

Great job on the stitching, NascarDave. Looks just like I remember.

thank OLYMPUS! I just had a steady hand when changing the angles on the tripod :) the software did all the work... the linear stitch shots have too much lens distortion to put together :(

Here is how the Dallas Ft Worth crew started out the morning.

18697447.jpg

14 AV's together after the 9 Dallas members and the 5 Fort Worth members joined at the Loves Travel Stop in Hillsboro, Tx 9:45 am

With the Houston group already in town, the D/FW members arrive and begin the parking in front of the Milam County courthouse and park. The city allowed for us to violate the diagonal parking and utilize back in ?parking.

And yes wonder91178 backed in to her space very well! ;D

OK, try this:

Take out bed panel No. 1. Fold down the mid-gate, but leave the glass in -- this is important to get the full accoustical effect. At a high rate of speed, hit the rumble strips they cut into the asphalt shoulder on I-35, the little inch-deep grooves just outside of the solid white line at the right of the right-hand lane. Now, in the instant you first hear the God-awful noise of the tires running across the grooves, count all the possible things that could have gone horribly wrong with the truck before you realize you just screwed up and drifted out of your lane.....

Thank you all for a great day! Even the dogs seemed to have a good time.

Norseman this is a great shot! Ya know after looking at the picture I got chills! Goo was with us. If you look at the Av at the closest right thats is Goos his is the only one with starburst reflections on it and there is a hint of purple. Maybe its me.

I see what you are talking about Dave - it is a star with purple rays coming out the front. Man does that send chills through ya or what?

Ok, on with the show, now the Alamo City Avalanche members arrive.
18698541.jpg

They're still coming!
18698456.jpg

after all the usual chat and picture takings we all went into the Museum which was the old Jail house and sherriffs residence.
MilamCountyOldJailLH.jpg
The Shreiff and his family lived downstairs while the inmates were upstairs in Iron cells.
The Denstist was located on the second floor, there were even teeth on a plaque that he had on the wall
