I just got off the phone with the sales guy at JoeyBed. Their price is $525 plus shipping ($80 to my zip code). This is much cheaper than I've found for the other slides of this type. I discussed a possible GP with him so that we could get it at an even better rate. He should be logging on here sometime soon and giving us an idea about the discount. If you'd be interested, post here so he'll know how many people want in.

I haven't seen this bed discussed on here much. I saw a post by ORANGE_1 that mentioned it....

Note to moderators: If I've overstepped my bounds, please accept my apologies. I was talking to him on the phone and it just dawned on me that others on the board might want in on this, too.

Just so people know.... I'm not even sure if I'm getting one yet... we'll see what the price comes down to. ;)

Need to advise the price for the Avalanche Joey Bed
does not include plywood for the floor. everything else
to assemble and install is in the kit.
We have several options available for you.
We can ship the unit completely assembled.
We can cut and carpet the plywood floor and front wall
and ship to you leaving only assembly of the drawer
and istallation.

We will offer discount on quantity orders.
Pricing will follow for options shortly.

I got mine at a Camper Show in Tampa Fl. Easy to install. I had to buy a sheet if 3/4 plywood, a can of flat black paint and some black boat deck carpet. I also made a panel on the tailgate end that can be removed. It looks good and works good also.

I am very interested in this product if the price is right.

Options So far

CargoSlide $699 CAFCNA edition Assembled and delivered

CargoPro $600 plus tax at my local dealer

Joey Bed $525 plus shiping and plywood. Unassembled.

Cargobed potential $325 price not set yet. Cust adds plywood.

If the Joeybed hardware was around $325 it would be a great deal. Much more than that and I might as well get the Cargo Pro. At $325 plus around $100 for extras (plywood, paint, carpet, shipping we are looking at about $500 total anymore and the pre-made starts looking better.

A cheaper high quality alternative to the Bedslide and Cargo Pro would definitely interest me.

Yeah... I'm also interested in saving money. I've got a price request into Cargobed. I was just happy to finally get a verified price of UNDER $600. I'm still amazed these things are so expensive. I guess I just don't see why the cost is so high. I was actually looking into building one (with rails and bearings) when I found JoeyBed. I figured others on CAFCNA might be interested so I hooked him up with our little group here. ;)

One question I have is that the Cargobed says if you use the "no drill" mount, the max payload theirs can carry is 650 lbs. In order to carry 1000 lbs you have to drill/mount to the bed. Since all the "no drill" cargo drawers mount to the same place (cargo tiedowns), wouldn't that mean they all (Bedslide, JoeyBed, Cargopro) have a 650 lb rating unless you drill/mount them to the floor? Cargobed claims the stock tiedown mounts can't support more than that.... Or are they just being conservative?

The Joey Bed will support 1000lbs when mounted to
the tie down bolts. We have our unit in Avalanches
throughout the USA. Our customers are satisified with
the construction and operation of our unit. Bolting
to the floor to support 1000lbs is not necessary when
installing our bed.

To make things easier for the fan club, we will offer
our unit completely assembled and carpeted with a
black indoor outdoor to match the carpet in the
Avalanche. All that is necessary for installation is
mount rail brackets to tie downs and insert drawer.

Price will be 525. fob factory. Shipping will depend
on destination, but we'll do our best on freight to help.

I just got my JoeyBed last week. It took a few hours to cut the floor and put it all together (It would have taken less if I had remembered to charge my drill)

So far I am happy with it. It has made it easier to load/unload all the stuff from my last few home depot trips.

That picture is of the bed fully extended. It also has a stop position at the end of the tailgate.

is it full extension or is that as far as it pulls out?
Judging by how much slide is sticking out over the end of the tailgate, I'd guess that the cooler you see is probably sitting right against the midgate when it's closed and there's less than 12" of slider inside the bed right now. That's about as "full extension" as any of the pro models ever get, but you can reach everything loaded all the way to the back right there.

What is the height of this from the bed to the top of the floor?
I measured about 1.5 inches between the bed and the bottom of the drawer, and 19.5 inches between the drawer and the bed panel.

Yes the Rubbermaid box is all the way at the back of the drawer. I find that I am able to easily get to all the cargo in the drawer with it fully extended.

Here is a pic of my latest Home Depot run, approx 500 lbs of bricks, crushed granite and mulch:

wow! THat should hold just about anything that a person needs to carry.

Is it easily removable or does it have to be unbolted to remove the bed?

The Joey Bed is easily removed. Pull drawer as far
as possible, then lift approximately 14 degrees and
slide it out. Suggest putting blanket on tailgate
to prevent scratching. The rails carring the bearings
are attached to the lower tie down bolts and can
be easily removed if need be.
