A little behind in posting the pix but here they are.? The directions that come with the kit are awesome. The first pix show where you have to remove the seat nuts, front and rear, to get the mounting brace installed.?

I had to then cut the carpet just a little to get the nut back on the bolt.  I think the reason it would not fit it because all the cables and sound damping material I?m using.

One side will go under the seat brace and the other will lay on top.? Again, the directions that come with the kit are very easy to follow.? Here are some pix of the completed job.? This thing rocks.? I used it for my navigation software on a 7 hour drive down to Miami and the desk made it easy.

SWEET!
I did the RAM Mount a few months ago.

Loggie Dose your lap-top have a slot for the lock. ( in my area it is highly advised)
also I installed LowJack for laptops on it.

to answer everyones questions,

I think my new Dell XPS M1210 has the ability to lock it, something I'll be looking into for sure.

The platform held my old 15" Dell just fine.  I think it would support the 17" laptops just fine.  The desk has a upper and lower cable strap that crosses over the laptop.  You can adjust the lengths to make up for the size of your system.

I bought my jotto mount from a member who used it once with his 17" laptop.  he said it was nearly too large if you have passengers.

I love those things, I just hate the price.

Hate the price... thats why I made my own..... Home Depot and about 15 bucks.........

Of course my adjustments are not quite as easy to make...... Takes a bit of skill to use an EMT pipe bender....
