JP Customs Heated Seats

Hey Everybody!

Just spent an hour trying to find the answer to this quick question, couldn't find anything on the website forums. I just got my heated seats in from JP Customs and it seems that the adhesive tape strips are not in the kit!!!!!
Maybe somebody knows if I can use just regular tape, like duct tape or something like that, or is it some special tape with good heat conductance properties???

Was going to install my JL stelath box this weekend during the T-Day break, figured I would get two birds with one stone and do the seats while they were out. Anybody know if the tape is something special???

Jason

Hi Jason,

Looking forward to your feedback on the add-on bun warmers as I am looking at adding these to my 2003 rear seats.

My wife loves the front ones and I would like to "share the warmth" with my other passengers. (y)

You have to LOVE great service. Just got a call from Jason @ JP Customs, it is 8 o'clock at night here in NJ. Great service is unbeatable.

He just let me know that you do not need to cut the pads or do any extra taping outside of the adhesive strips already on the pads. So I will be doing my truck this weekend and will be posting pics of the new Alpine stereo system and but warmers!!!

Don't know the specifics of the kit (but now I'm curious, I could use heated seats - stop me before I mod again >:D ) but I do know Jason, he will email you back quite quickly should you have any install questions regarding his products - in fact, that's how I met him (I had some pesky questions regarding the paint it yourself trim piece that comes with the steering wheel audio kit, and he kept on writing me back within hours of each email). So I would suggest dropping Jason a line.

Hey I met Jason in person just today - while picking up my Denali cluster from him - you said it about great service. He is a real nice person as well. I am interested in the question on the rear seat warmers though - is this an idea or a existing mod?

how do you control the heated seats? where does the control mount? does it have the hi, lo, off positions like the factory.
BTW, i had some questions Jason as well. he got back with me very quickly with good info i might add.

There is a little round switch for high and low heat and off position, the switch is the size between a nickel and quarter. I have not installed it yet, but will be doing it tomorrow all day along with the rest of my stereo. Will post some pics once everything is completed.

By the way, Jason is having a huge blowout sale on these seat kits right now, so if you are interested, you better do it now from JP Customs!!!!!!!

will be running the wire up under the dashboard and have the little round switches installed into the small plates underneath the onstar buttons.

but then again, was thinking that I might mount them somewhere on the seat plastic down near the bottom or something???

Will most liekly put them on the dash, this way it is the same like my Mercedes, same concept

OK Everybody!!

Just finished the install of my JP Customs kit heated seats!! WOW!!!

Simple, fast, easy, HOT!!!! Did I mention easy to install? It only took me 30 minutes to dissasemble the seat covers, install the heating pads and reinstall the seat covers.

One thing to be carefull, make sure you remove the airbag fuse and also disconnect the negative terminal for safety reasons.

The heaters work great, I can email pictures of the install to whomever wants them, just drop me a PM with your email and I will send them to you. I also just installed a big stereo system with DVD, so check out the new thread I start tonight on that.

I am very happy, thumbs up ten times over to JP for his hard work.

JP Customs is just dangerous. I can be at his front door in less than 30minutes. ;) I've got mod fever and he's waaaay to close!

I just need more money!!!!

Not sure why it didn't work, but try clicking this one below in my title description. It shouldn't ask to login, you are logining in as a guest by clicking on my link.

jmg3, the link worked for me. Thanks for posting the pictures. Did you end up putting the switches for the heated seats in the stock location (driver and passenger door)?

No, I pu the controls on the seat plastic wrapping around the bottom. Will one day move it most likely to the dash under the ONstar controls. I have to many wires and things in the door already for my stereo, didn't even want to go that route. see the attached picture to this reply.
