just bought my silverstars...need help

Owners manual describes how to get the turn signal
bezel off, then you'll have access to remove the headlight bezel to replace the bulbs....

But in a nut shell.... on the outer inside edge of the turn signal bezel is a plastic clip, squeeze and pull....

Once removed, rotate and remove the retaining pins for the headlight bezel... Now have easy access to the bulbs.....

Off course this is based on the Cladded AV..... if its the WBH, its easy, just pull the pin out......headlight bezel is on top....

First off, I installed the low-beam sliverstars and they are fantastic! But, I cannot find the fogs anywhere. Did any of you purchase off the web? I am having serious trouble finding the 880s for the tahoe. Any help would be appreciated!!!

Myself and quite a few others have installed 885s. They are a 50W fog. Sylvania doesn't make a SilverStar in a fog-style bulb. To closely match the whiter light cast off your new SilverStar bulbs, I'd recommend getting a Xenon-style replacement. I got a set of Mercury-Xenon bulbs off of eBay for about $15 shipped. They are extremely white and bright. They will not overheat or damage the fog housing either. Just go to eBay and do a search on "885 fog" or similar. For example, 885 fog. These are similar to what I have been running in my Av for over a year now.

Where did you buy your silverstars and what are the model #s for the Highbeams, lowbeams and Fogs?

Thanks!

Cool, thanks for the advice Jamie!! One question, does the Av have 880s from the factory? I did see on the Sylvania website that they will be offering the 880s summer 2003 in the Silverstars.

thanks!

I don't recall the designation of the factory installed bulbs. I do know they are only a paltry 27.5W though! As soon as Sylvania releases those SilverStar 880s, I'll be getting a pair!

As far as part numbers, Spotty3, you have 9011s and 9006s installed in your Av. You can use Sylvania SilverStar 9005ST in lieu of your 9011 and 9006ST to replace your 9006s. Yes, there is a slight lumens difference between the 9005 and 9011, but the SilverStar will outperform your stock 9011 anyway.

Well, I contacted Sylvania and asked when the Silverstar fogs are going to be out. I will post back when I hear from them, hopefully soon!

Heard back from Sylvania...

Thank you for your inquiry.
According to my information, the 880ST's are not expected to be available until the early fall timeframe. I have double checked and there currently does not appear to be any stock available for distribution. Please let me know if you
have any additional questions.
Thank you,

Looks like a month or tweo until the silverstar fogs are available...

I did it! Bought 9005 silverstars thinking I was changing my lowbeams, but I screwed up :2: Went ahead replaced my 9011's and I love the Silverstars. Now I gotta get 9006st's :0:
