I'm looking at a CAI, which would be the best for preformance.  Also which might work best with a Cat-back exhaust upgrade and a engine tuner, and larger throttle body???

Check all the manufactures dyno charts most have them. I have seen that for some reason a lot of the members seem to prefer Volant...

So many choices it makes it fun doesnt it

I have the Volant... just cause of the cool factor.  :p

Good looking engine compartment but a question.

I thought the MAF sensor had to be in line by the filter outlet and I dont see it in your 2nd pic....

I am not real up to date on that item but I thought it had to be in line for everything to function smoothly, and where did you pick up that engine cover

The MAF sensor is there, its the first piece connected to the airbox

As JJ pointed out.. its right next to the air box... and the engine cover came from www.jpcustoms.com.

Then painted to match the truck

Go with the Volant, its the only intake thats built to do what its meant to do.  Its the only one Ive seen that completely encloses the air filter, thus giving you the cooler air your trying to get.  Plus its looks better than the rest too.

It's the one I have too, but it's so freakin loud at WOT

I have the Corsa sport too so I dont notice the intake much, its music to my ears though! :B:

Just glad I have my stereo boosted up most of the time.

I have had all 3 of them, and prefer the outlaw.  The K&N is the loudest of the three air temp wer very high with it.  The outlaw sees about 5 over ambient.  Not too many people here have the outlaw, and I think its because most of them cant get by the weird looking air tube  :cautious:

If i remember right I paid $350 for the whole set.  As far as gas mileage I dont have a base line.  The AV was only 1 week old when I installed the Volant, FM40 and the predator tune.

Wow ... I was giving some heavy consideration to the Volant and now I'm getting freaked out by the "load" factor.  I already have a dual exhaust which is actually pretty quiet but with a newborn I don't want it to be too loud.

I wouldn't let that scare you. It really isn't that loud and it is only at WOT and a bit at certain times near shifts when the rpms are high. At cruise and idle you don't even notice it. The part I like the best about the sound is when you really do get on the throttle instead of the engine having a high pitch screaming sound now it growls.  >:D

One other quick thought on the sound. I was pulling a skid steer that I was able to borrow from my work over the weekend. It was a pretty heavy load. I did notice quite a bit of noise then. I also have a flowmaster super 40 exhaust system. If you plan to do much towing you might want to consider that. The noise was kind of fun for a quick trip from work to home but it might get a little old if I were pulling a travel trailer the 500+ miles from my home to Colorado. Just one AV owners opinion.  :B:

ARe there any true Cold Air intakes. the kind that drop down near the bottom of the chassis or are there any true ram air intakes?

Volant has the option of adding a scoop that fits down behind the front bumper for an extra $125 or so and I do believe the Outlaw also can use the Volant scoop as well.

As far as ram air goes you would probably need to change out the hood to get that. I saw one on an AV at the Addison get together last month...

go here  select products/scoops/chevrolet and a pic will pop up for you

Just find any BB&K dealer and contact them with your vehicle info and there you go.here is mine you cant really see the air box but who cares there all pretty much the same its the manifold I like better than the rest of the CAI.

I have the Volant with the ram air tube. I wouldn't worry about the noise factor. It isn't even enough to worry...
