Kind Of Funny Story

Last night my wife and I were in a Chevy dealer buying her a TrailBlazer (I tried to talk her into an Av but she wouldn't bite) So this is part of my conversation with the salesman...

Me: I have an Avalanche
Salesman : Oh really....blah blah blah
Me: I belong to a club, it's called the Chevy Avalanche Fan Club
Salesman : chuckle chuckle
Me: Yea, we have just over 5000 members right now and it growing quickly
Salesman :
Me: chuckle chuckle

Unfortunately I didn't have any pamphlets but I did give him the url.

What did you expect out of a car salesman? Really though I have had some salesmen that were very knowledgeable and interesting guys.

Being a local coordinator, i talked to a few dealers regarding club stuff....but it seems once you buy your vehicle, they don't really have time. Even if they come off as polite.

You know when we were taking bids for the National Meet I got a lot of similar reactions. Isn't the Avalanche a new vehicle? Yes. And there is a club already? Yes, with almost 5,000 members (as that was the mark at the time). Suddenly their attitude changed - interesting how there is strength in numbers!

How ironic, nh_mark. We just picked up a Victory Red 02 TrailBlazer last Thursday. Now the problem I am finding is getting keyless entry for it. It's an LS model that has power windows & locks but the original owner or dealer ordering the truck opted not to get keyless entry. I have talked to a few installers and it will cost me about $150 over the top of any aftermarket keyless system/alarm system to get this truck to be keyless

Thank you GM and the data2 bus! I guess this new technology is in place on the 02 TrailBlazer & Envoy as well as the 03 Avalanche and Caddy trucks as well. Not sure about Tahoes, Sub and Denials although one can draw that assumption.
