There is still some tweaking to do and I still need to connect my rear license plate LED's. Very Awesome Mod!

Had a great time. I used some 12 gauge lying around for the right and some 18 gauge for the left. The right seems alot brighter. Does anyone know if you use different gauge wire, will that make the difference? Fun time Strobe, whats next?

LOF? I think that's next for me. Can't wait to do some more mods . . . Great Time. Stupid Storm HeHe

I think I might go take some more pictures of LED's hehe

Next, Escalade cluster and midgate power lock. ;D " Geeeez, does it ever end?" (quote from the bride)

fireater, who makes the front bumper guard on your av? that looks really nice. i'm planning on doing this mod as soon as pepboys gets more of the lights in stock.

Looks great guys! derrick, it looks like a WAGG bumper. Fireaeter, how does your 2500 drive on the highway with that lift. I also have a 2500, and looking am looking at 6" lifts. I do alot of highway driving though and heard they don't ride well.

It drives fine. The only complaint is that since it's up high the wind has a tendency to blow the truck around a little. Nothing I can't handle though. I love it!!

I got it done at Attitude Performance. The lift plus labor was $2100. Now, tires, rims, Hypertech, Roadmaster active suspension and a few extras ran me close to $5000.

That's it my foot is down . . . I'm getting Alpine HU next ;D so don't try getting me to get anything else before I get the HU

Yes, using 18 gauge is getting on the thin side for power for 4 LED's. I can't remember the formula's for wire length (I let our EE's calculate those kind of things for me at work), but in general, the bigger the wire, the less power loss you'll have running down it, and less heat it generates.

The heat is important - if you hold your hand on the wire, and it feels warm while in use, it's just too small. However, I'd think that 16 gauge would be fine for 4 LED's though...

Thanks Uncle Milt. I'm going to change out the wire in a couple of days. I was concerned though where I spliced in already. That wire isn't completly cut is it? I was just going to cut the 18 gauge and cap it off and splice into the wire with the 12 gauge. Any problems with capping that wire off tightly? Thanks, Fireeater

You can wheel and deal with them. The install should be roughly $700. My first quote I got was $5000 just for the lift and labor. It's different everywhere you go. Personally, I would get a couple of quots but make sure they are repitable places.

Ok Well Today I Finished The Rest Of My Lights

Look in the reverse light housing for the hint of red . . . needs to get a little darker so I can take another pic

Depends on how you spliced it as to whether it was cut. Usually I prefer to split the wire, strip both ends and the end I'm splicing in, solder the whole thing together, and then shrink wrap it. There are so many different ways to splice in that really only you would know how you did it. I'm a firm believer in soldering the splice though. Significantly less chance of the joint failing in the future...
