Lifts and Warrantys

Not 100% true.

You will void the parts you replace with the new lift parts.  If the new suspension parts casue something on the truck to fail, than you're out of luck.
The dealer has to prove that to deny the claim as well.

There are pleanty of dealers out there that lift the trucks and sell you an additional warranty.  Dealer Services International is a good place to start if you want to buy a brand new truck lifted.  These guys are all over the US and work with many of the Chevy dealers.  They will build your truck through the dealer and you buy it lifted with full warranty.

If you are going to buy a lift and have it installed, places like 4 Wheel Parts will offer up a warranty as well.  So you can still have warranty.

I would talk dirrect with your dealer's service manager before doing anything.  If you have more than one Chevy dealer in the area, ask them as well.  Some dealerships don;t deal enough with suspension lift and will just say "nope, no warranty."

Good luck.  Maybe post up the dealer name and someone from your area can chime in.

do a search... there are a lot of topics that deal w/ this specifically... i'm certain the questions of others will answer yours fantastically...

they may give you a hard time with some of it, but you can use the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act in your favor

I was told by a Dealer that if you lift the 2007 AV it will void any Warranty, is this True?
Thanks

Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act

US Code - Title 15, Chapter 50, Sections 2301-2312
Legally, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle (per the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C)) .

GREAT FIND... and something very important for those who've done serious modding to always keep in mind when getting stuff done at the dealership...  (y)

yep, that sums it up nicely.  The dealer would have to PROVE the lift caused the issue that is seeking warrantee work.

Good luck though. I've been kicked out of service departments arguing this fact with service managers in the past(and told not to come back). Unless you want to hire lawyers and sue, be ready for plenty of opposition from some dealerships. I would suggest having it dealer installed and warranted if I were to do it again. Just my 2 pennies.

I'm perfectly calm, and you have no idea about my experiences with dealers, so please don't try and speak for me  :)

well, since you have no lift, why don't u go ahead and explain to me how YOUR personal experiences have been regarding your lift and your av?

I? have had 2 lifted Avalanches, and have taken both to the delaers for work, never had a problem with warranty work. The only comments that I ever got from the dealer were.."nice truck"...

the av is not the only vehicle I've ever owned and I've been through GM arbitration before. The dealer tried to blame a electrical problem on it, it took quite a bit of time (hence my agreeing with TheBeast's post), but I got the money they charged me back
