thinking about getting a lift, so many threads to check out figured put a poll out there to see what majority has, also if any one has had problems due to the lift, if they could let me know so i don't run into the same prolems. LOTS of the lifted trucks look great and i love the av and want to lift it up . I do alot of highway driving and also have to do some deadly off roading just to get into some work zones . I have heard of 4x4 not working and other things all input some one might have will be helpful thanks

While I am not sure as to what the most "common" lift is, I personally have an "RCD" 6" lift.  I have had it since September of '03 and have not had any problems with it what so ever.  Everything works as well as it did the day it was installed.

I have said this a thousand and one times, but I am still a firm believer in that the best lift for any one person out there is the one that is maintained by the seller of the lift.  Routine maintenance is what is going to make any lift last through the years, and having a local off road shop install and do the maintenance for a set time is very important.  While there are those out there who are more than capable of installing their own lift, your own work can not be warrenteed by the manufacture or the shop who sold it to you.

i keep seeing that the rcd is a great kit to have do you got any pics of your truck with the lift ? How much did it differ from when it was stock, like the ride all good? Never had a lifted vehicle before so just trying to find out as much as possible.

When I got it lifted, there was not a huge selection of large A/T tires on the market for rims larger than 16".  So I went with 33/12.50R16 Super Swampers.  The ride was basicly the same as stock, only 6" taller (+ tire height).  I have since put 20" wheels on and am running basicly the same size tire only less profile.  THIS is where my ride became a bit more firm.  It's still a nice ride though.

Here's some pics for ya that I just posted in an other thread as well.

If you do allot of deadly off-roading than you want to get rid of that IFS and put in a solid axle. Now that's the ultimate lift.  :B:

To be honest with you, I don't do a whole lot of offroading.  The underbody kit is located in relatively safe spot (I hope).  The tubes on the side are mounted  to the running board brackets, and the front and rear bumper tubes are far up enough so that I don't much worry about them... so to answer your Q, no... never had to replace a tube due to damage.

have had the pro comp for ove a year now. nothing wrong with the lift itself, but the es9000 shocks suck, getting new shocks soon. The 4wd does not function properly, not sure if its due to the lift, but i doubt that. And sway bar end links seem to disapear from time to time  :beating:

ProComp for a few years now.  Only problem indirectly attributed to the lift is an idler arm bracket, and that's due to the bigger tires.  There's too much tire contact and has snapped the bracket.
