Got change is still looking for mod ideas, some of which, have not been made by any manufacturer, for avs, but for other vehicles.

I,m gonna start this av wish list, with three ideas...OK:

#1.... A third tailight insert, with av logo

#2.....A rear, track bar, by rancho, or one of the suspension manufactures, that could be round tubing, with heavy duty bushings, and have an offset at the rear differental cover, to allow us to put on a custom diff cover

#3.... a front, pre runner bumper bar, that would bolt in the stock tow hook bolt holes

I have many more ideas, but I wonder if a bunch of other avrs do too, so I'm looking for your ideas...gotchange

OK, I'll throw in. I would love to have fender skirts for the rear wheels. I tried to find someone up here to fabricate them, but no go. I believe they would look sweet

1. Chrome Bed Handles

2. Chrome Bed Rails that would attach to the side storage bin lids and run from the handles to the sails.

3. Driving Lights with pre-made mounts that will fit into the tow-hook mount. The tow hooks would be removed and could be stored in the side storage bins should they be needed.

4. Taller center console that's more like the Cadillac EXT, but I would want it higher so it would look better and would have some consealed storage area inside of it for mods.... DVD player, PS2, amp, subwoofer, etc.

5. Some kind of backup sensor that's as nice as what's on the Cadillac EXT.

I waited on the Wiper Cowl from Lund for months, and then they informed all of us waiting that they were not going to make it due to insufficient demand.
I'm also still waiting for the clear or Euro style tail lamps.

I want Jackalanche to come over and install those cool backup lights mounted under the rear upper sail panel area. I'd throw in some good Ale for that job, bubby ;)

I wish my back window was electric so I could lower it into the midgate on the fly.

I would like to see

1. power midgate, window & back seats folding down, all in one shot

2. heated back seats

3. power tailgate

4. power tonneau hard covers, able to slide somehow

5. power steps

More POWER!!! ?(y)

:B: :B:
A nice-looking amber(front)/red(rear) turn signal that could be mounted either on the front fender cladding behind the wheel opening, or under the mirrors without interfering with the folding capability or the puddle lights.

Happy Modding..... ;D

a lot of your guys ideas make sense to me, chrome can be done, saw a power tailgate post, power step idea will be there someday.
there are a lot of cars with side marker lights, the mini cooper ones that have fender outlet look like they just about would fit.

got change would like to have any of yhe mods you guys thought up......
..................................except, sparky, im not quite sure, about those fender skirts, right now.

keep up the mod ideas, and lets make a couple of them functional....got change

'03 Silverado headlight / turnsignal setup.

I don't like the nightime "eyebrow" look of the current turnsignals.

Shouldn't be too difficult to make an "AV" stencil for the 3rd brake light lens and it could be painted. Like some have done with the tail light lenses.

TribalAV makes 3rd brake light AV logo decals AND turn signal AV logo decals.....they look SWEET on his AV!

I believe avz66 also has the 3rd brake light AV logo decals as well.....$10.....

wonder, do any of the guys, have pics of the 3rd light decal posted anywhere??

How about a homemade bed slide? The boughten ones a big $$$$ and I don't think it will be that hard to fab one.

we need, an avalanche specific, bed, bar, to be able to bring home, groceries, gallons of whatever, the barbecue grill tank a chlorine jug, for the pool and the "recyclables" for this week. without worrrying about them falling over, i see the verticle notch in the avs, bedsides, and would like to get an av club member to start this one.
it would keep items, from rolling around in the avs pickup, bed and like the other ones, could be flipped to extend out the tailgate!!.

av idea, for avr....who's got another one!! I do, I do!!

i cheated a bit on this one and got the poor man's bedslide.. bought two 45 gallon storage bins that have wheels on one end at walmart for $15.. slide them in wheels first, once u put the back of them down, (no wheels) they don't move.. they just fit under the covers too.. they're great for grocery shopping as well.. just drag the whole thing into the house to unload instead of a few bags at a time..

Are you a eXtreme weightlifter or something? I mean, I can't imagine lifting that 45 gallon tub out of the bed full of groceries and gently lowering it to the ground... My back gets weaker and weaker every year, it seems.

Brendan

see.. i cheat there too.. just back the truck up to the porch, lower the tailgate and slide it out right onto the porch.. the tub never touches the ground..

i did almost throw my back out last week.. it was the grocery store's can-can sale.. had a bunch of cases of canned vegatables in that thing.. just dragging it into the kitchen was a workout!!

we are getting some good ideas, down here in fort lauderdale, a surfboard rack, would be cool. could use the two, bed handle bolts, for the rear hardpoints for the rack, and mabe two of the sail panel cladding bolts up front.

hey i have had an idea, for a motorcycle ramp, off of the trailer hitch.
this would be with tailgate, off, plug in the ramp, to the hitch reciever, push cycle up into bed, and then have ramp, hinge up and lock, cycle rear tire would still be on ramp, supported by hitch.
because, now, cycle rear tire is on tailgate, anyway, and it wont close.

while looking,at trailer hitch, and realizing, I could use the tube, for storage, i had another idea, if spectron, wont kid me about it!!!!

I have seen that some off roader avrs, have cought the rear bumper clad, going over big ditches, or rocks, and stuff.

what about a "rear bumper bash bar"

if you look at the trailer hitch each side has the open tube. my idea is to make a plate that would slide in from each side, go forward under the spare, and attatch up to the frame, maybe at the bolts, for the rear swaybar link.
probably 1/4 inch steel, or aluminum plate, and have quick release pins, like trailer hitch ball mount has, if you had to get the spare out.
this, bash plate would be just at lower edge of bumper clad, so if you took a hit there, it would ride on the plate, and not snatch the bumper.
the sides, of the tube, could extend out to the corners of the bumper.

my vw sand rail has these, to protect the push rod tubes, on av the exhaust pipe makes that side a little tricky.
any body, in the avalanche network, got a welding shop??
this idea for the back, would kinda be like the skid plates that are already made for the front.
p.s, if you make this first, and sell a million of em, cut me in for the royalty, ok!!! got change
