Loose cladding

Hi,
Just over a year ago, my Avalanche was the unfortunate target for an attempted vehicle theft which left some damage to my driver side door.   I took my truck to the dealership where I had purchase it and the damage was repaired.   I was told they had to paint the driver door which was understandable, but they also took apart the rear passenger door as well.   It looked fantastic when repaired, but I've noticed over time the cladding on both the doors seems to be slowly separating and I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem and could give me an idea as to what can be done to prevent the cladding from falling off.
Thanks and I look forward to the feedback!!

Sounds like maybe they broke some of the clips that hold the cladding on and didn't replace them.

They probably stuck some 2 sided 3M tape back there and prayed.  :beating:

Ditto

It almost does look like 3M double sided tape.   I wonder why they would put tape on instead of replacing the clips that hold the cladding on? Should I go back to the dealer and have them replace the clips? This is only within the past month I've noticed the cladding coming loose.

Replacing clips costs money.  It takes time.  Emblem tape is something sitting around, is cheap, and is quick.  Very simple reason why.

It happened a year ago, you're wasting time trying to get them to resolve it now.  Look for clips on ebay and fix it yourself.

They use 3m to seal panel top and edges.

leading top edge of rear door cladding is bad for curling from door and is very common
