Has anyone found a way of lowering the rear by about 2' to level out the stance?

I know I could raise the front but that aint the way I wanna go.

Dunno, but since the 2500 has leaf springs maybe the shackle route will work?

You might whant to send BoneDog a PM I believe he was working on this, I've been wanting to do the same thing as you but have been lazy.

Those tailgate straps hold more than I thought they would.

Maybe we are getting a bit off-topic here?

I was once told that lowering shackles off a Silverado would fit but I dont want to take any chances with 600hp tearing up the tarmac!

Yeah, we wandered. Sorry 'bout that.

Anyway, if you bring the truck to a "spring" retailer, they can figure out the spring rates and either replace yours with a set that are just as strong but lower, or remove and add leaves to make a custom spring pack that is still rated to the same capacity but with less arch.

There's a place in Tampa, Fl. called, surprise, Tampa Spring, that does just this and they could make you a custom spring pack, but getting it to your side of the planet might be tough. :cautious:

Im supposed to be visiting oklahoma soon, but I cant see an avalanche fitting in my luggage.
Ho hum!

WHY NOT CRANK THE TORSION BARS UP...APPARENTLY YOU HAVE A 2WD AVALANCHE AND WANT TO LOWER IT CAUSE GROUND CLEARANCE IS THE WAY TO GO...

Er. . . . . nope! I want to lower the rear to level it out.

Extra ground clearance is of no use to me and it is not a 2WD truck.

This truck hauls divers and a dive boat and 4WD is a comfort when towing a 3ton boat and trailer up a wet slipway, but ground clearance is not an issue!

Belltech has shckle/hanger kits... not speciffically for the AV but the C/K 2500 line part number is 6909 for a 3" lower shackle

3" is about what you would want. I have the Belltech 2/3" drop kit on 1500 and all I can say is that the ride improved dramatically. It actually feels good to drive the truck now.

Let me know if you need more info.

Let me know

Cantact stylinconcepts` part #6400 2"shackels for 3500 series trucks
install them and your done. U can "also remove the tow spring" the thick 1 and cut down the rubber stopper, if U don't tow real heavy loads. this will NOT! effect your ride at all.
