where is this thing?

what does it look lke?

got pics?

how much does it cost?
is it the red/white/green thingy on the air box???

why?
I just got an almost complete OEM air intake for $15.50 - including shipping

i bought it for just the box - about to cut a hole in mine....

well, it came with almost everything...filter, that big strange shape thing above the fan and maybe a MAF....

Thanks....

Maf is the sensor that is connected to the air box itself. It or course is round, about 3 1/2 in diameter, and as a connection to it from the wireing harness.

Looks something like this:

For $15, I doubt that is comes with a MAF since they go for well over $100...

thanks. I will look closer in box.... it might be wrapped up in the bubble wrap.... i just took a quick look in the box.

i bet it cost almost $15 to ship this monster box....hehehehe

It is attatched to the air box and has a plug on it. It is about 3/4" thick with very small wires criss crossing on the inside where the air passes. Be careful not to mess it up. One side is round and the other side (of the circular part) is flat where the 5 pin plug is.

FSUGAY,

you doing the "sewer pipe" airbox hack mod, or have you got something else up your sleeve? :0:

No, that is just a simple pressure indicator to tell you if your filter is clogged. When the filter is too dirty, air can't flow as well past it, the sucking power of the intake creates a slight vacuum in the filter box, and the indicator turns red. It serves no practical function for the engine, just a gimic to tell you to change the filter. It's kind of like the simplistic "green eye" on batteries.

Others have described the MAF pretty well. It is near the filter box, and the flexible tubing going to the engine is clamped onto it.

While this isn't the stock air intake, the general layout is the same.

The MAF is the part circled in red, the only part you can really see of it is the wiring connector sticking out the top between the leftmost two hose clamps. The rest of it looks like BlackAvi03's pic, but most of it is inside the tube.

Man rich - you don't have to call me names .....

well - no MAF- I think I might send the guy and Email...description is complete air intake. hehehe

I got the 4" hole saw and 3-4 inch connector and a 4" irrigation pipe(flexible). Ready to TEAR IT UP!

Is there much demand for that top air tube thingy?
let me know if anybody needs one.

I know aftermarket performance MAF's can be in the range of about $300. So I'm sure stock is about $500 >:D
