Maglite On 03

I have read about the mounting of a maglite on the side boxes on an pre-03 av. I looked at mine last night and it doesnt have the screws on the lid like the 02 does. Has anyone mounted a holder on an 03? If so what did you use?? Does anyone think that double sided tape will hold it?? Thanks all......Chris
 
I have an 03 and mounted the Maglite to the lid with the existing screws. They don't appear from the top, and can be seen when you open the compartment lid. Very clean and easy to do. Took about 3 minutes! Hope this helps.
 
They are there...It took me two minutes in the Home Depot parking lot to install. That is where I bought the clips. And no..I couldn't wait!!!

I have an 03 and I don't think there is a difference between the 02 and 03 as far as the screw locations. There are three screws under the side compartment lid.

You can see in this picture from the Maglite thread the location of the screws. Use these screws to secure the mounting brackets and your all set. Total time for mod aprox. 30 seconds ;)

I am at work right now but I went and looked at both side of my av and neither has the screws like shown in the pic. Did GM make a cutback on 03 or did they have midyear change?? I am totally puzzled......Chris

Got me curious so I had to go look. No screws visible on my '03 WBH. :6:
 
Sure shouldn't make any difference. Everything with the bed is the same.
 
There have been a few others with the '03 that do not have the screws, mine is an early '03 and has them. GM must have made an engineering change in the '03 production run.

OK, you got me. ??? What is the "saddle storage bag top covering"? ???
 
My 03 did not have the screws in the cover. The cover is hollow and I carefully drilled holes then I put in short fat little screws in. I had to add two little washers so the screws did not go into the top part. Works great .
 
My '03 has torx type screws, three of them, but not in the configuation shown in the photo. My saddle bag straps to the bed hooks. "Bare Nekked" AV's aren't the same throughout. I think the use a silverado front end and wiring. Also a note on my '03. I installed the back up camera from Snakeeyes, and the colors listd in the owners manual for my trailer plug do not match what's really in my vehicle. i had to get a meter out to find the reverse light wire.
 
No screws on my '03 either. I took small screws and very carefully tapped them in to the cover, worked good and looks slick.
 
I just got my 03 last week and I have the screws,
But I can not find the clamps anywhere.. What size are they and where else should I look????

Any place that you know that will always have them????
 
Thomast, do you have a Home Depot, or maybe a Fry's Electronic store close by? They both carry the plastic clips here in Tx.
Just a thought.
