Max Tire Size W/o Lift?

I have 285 75 r 17 tires on h2 chrome wheel and i bought new torision bar keys from off road unlimited in burbank,ca and they work great they brought the front end up 2 inches up and you then can crank the bars more if needed. anyhow hope that helps.

I just put a set of Dayton Timberline AT  LT 265/75 R16's on my stock 16 x 6.5" wheels and when you turn the wheels about 1/2 way the rear part of the fender comes within 1/8" of rubbing, No cranked torsion bars here either. I think STOCK these are the max size I can run, maybe with cranked bars i may squeeze 285's but im sure they would rub when turning under compression.

Go with the 285 Revos,  Great tire.  Small amount of trimming but well worth it,  No lift needed.  I just wished the Revos came in a larger size, then I would have an excuse to get a 4" Rancho lift.

Here is the pic of the truck the day I got it.  Yes I had the dealer put the new Revo tires on.  I cost $500 for five tires for the upgrade.  Worth every penny.

Will BFG A/T 285-75-16's fit on the stock 2500 wheels without a lift.

I just bought a 2500 Suburban and wondered if you guys know if has less, the same, or more clearance?

I couldn't find a knowledgable Suburban board that could answer my questions...

thanks

looking at a set of h2 rims and standard BFG AT tires. Will these fit a stock avalanche or a 2500 Suburban?

I believe they are 315-70-17's

thanks

I'VE HAD 285'S ON MY AV TOYO OPEN'S AND DUELERS THEY ONLY RUBBED ON THE MUDFLAP GAURDS AND NO T-BAR ADJ .I MIGHT BE GOIN TO 20'S WITH 305 'S

well, I didn't read them all but here's what I did.  I put 265/75s on my stock 16 inch rims.  I've had no rubbing issues at all with either turning or off roading and I've retained my load rating on the tires and the truck looks a lot better, the 245s look like clown wheels, why they don't give a higher suspension with bigger tires is BEYOND me.

I have already asked questions in another thread but am not sure if it was the right place or if I will get a correct response, so I will post here since I do have an 02' 2500 4WD and will most likely get responses from knowledgeable 2500 owners.

I am looking at a set of Weld Racing Evo Velociti 8 wheels
specs are:

Size: 17x8.5
Bolt Circle: 8x6.5
Backspace: 5.14 in.
Offset: +10 mm
Hub Diameter: 4.93 in.

Here are my questions:

Will the 1" height and 2.5" width increase over OEM's fit without rubbing or requiring a lift?

If so...

What tire sizes will fit without rubbing or requiring a lift? One wheel site recommended 275/60/17

Will 2" rear wheel spacers interfere(already installed)?

Does anybody know the difference between the Velociti 8 and the Velociti XT 8? (I am guessing XT = Xtra Tough?)

I can get 4 of these new in box for around $1150 shipped if I act quick, cheapest elsewhere is $1800 + s/h

Bump

Can anybody help? Don't want these to get away if they will fit. The seller said he's had these for sell on another site 30+ days and was going to put these up on ebay end of this week and I'm pretty sure he'll get more than $1150

Thanks,

The guy that has them hasn't put them on ebay yet. I really want to get them but funds are low after putting SSBC rotors and pads all around. If I get them I imagine a decent set of tires will run $400+, stock wheels are 16"

Just put on 285 75 16 BFG All Terrains on my 04 Avalanche.  Had a little bit of rub on the back side of the front tires.  Cranked the front up 3/4 of an inch and was good.  NTB put the tires on and adjusted the front end for free.

Just put these on two days ago. No lift BFG A/T KO 285/75/16 minor rub when wheel is fully turned otherwise no problems. gone over some things with them already (curbs, telephone poles, rocks, front steps at college, etc.) and there was no banging or rubbin. I even left the small molding on the front wells.

Just throwing this in, in case someone searches for this down the road......

I have an 03 2500 with stock wheels and 305/70/16's, with rubbing only at full lock on the back of the fender well.

I'm also running 305-70-16's on stock wheels.  Only suspension mods are 3" lift keys and a 1" rear block.  I have absolutely no rubbing with my setup.  I'm contemplating trying some 315-75-16's since I have a free set coming.  I'll let everyone know if they fit.

If only someone made a 285-80-16... it would fit the rim perfect and the height would be about 34" and about alla stock Avy could tuck...

My 2004 AVY 2500 has Goodyear Wranglers in the 285/75/16's and never had a rub. Never noticed any drivability issues from the center of the tire ballooning out (rims too narrow). It has the factory rims on the truck. The suspension is stock and has never been adjusted. Even the bump stops are all gone (completely) and nothing rubs. There's not one scratch (shiny spot) inside my wheel wells.

I know, REPLACE those broken bump stops! I keep searching online and all I get is generic one size fits all crapp from aftermarket and nothing that is specific to this truck. I tried NAPA, SUMMIT, ROCK AUTO, and even Auto Zone. All sell bump stops but none of them are made for this truck. Can someone provide me with a part number/supplier?

Is this what you are looking for.

I believe those will do the trick! Thank you very much!

BTW, I went down the street from my neighborhood to the next neighborhood where they have the 25mph super speed bumps that send you air born if you hit them too hard. I hit them doing 35 and barely got a jolt. Hit them at 45 and got to hear the torsion bars rattle on the rebound but never did the tires hit anything. I went back across them with the wheels turned at 15mph doing a hard left U-turn and still NOTHING. I don't see what everyone is worried about unless you are doing some serious off roading. I have not tried to get 2 wheels on opposite corners off the ground with the wheels turned to full lock left/right in 4wd while FlOORING it! I doubt I ever will. I'm sure I might get something to rub somewhere if I tried rock crawling or something.

Like I said earlier, I have no bump stops and can't get anything to rub. I pull out of my driveway every day which is an off/camber 5 degree low water concrete trench that will lift at least 1 tire off the ground on a Dodge Police car at idle (don't ask). My wife's Kia Sportage SX lifts 1 tire off the ground as well. My 2007 SRT8 Charger will teeter totter on 2 wheels while crossing this concrete spillway. My 2000 Dakota will over extend the right rear shackle and cause the left rear leaf spring to wrap up and cause the pinion angle to BIND and make a loud BANG! All these vehicles struggle to cross this at idle. I can hit this at 20mph with while cutting the steering wheel hard right to pull out onto the road and not one single sound/rub/creek and all 4 wheels stay firmly planted on the ground.

It's going to lift the front about a inch so you will need to lower your low beam lights.
