You just gave me a headache man. That has got to the be longest run-on sentence I have ever see, and not only that, what the hell was your point? For someone with the name "abuelito" you sure seem to hate Mexico. Why do you go there? Running drugs?

If I remember correctly, he is a missionary of some sort down there. Very nice guy, but the punctuation does drive me insane. I don't care if it is too little or incorrect, how about just attemtping a little puncuation abuelito?? ;D

wow      gonna go take classes in that der puntuazons this very day you are right sometimes drives me crazy reading my own posts you are never to old to leern ok abuelito

Hey, I wouldn't worry too much about the punctuation. You're learning english as a second language. There are alot of Americans here that have english as their first language and they can't even read or write. You've got one leg up on them (y). Mike.

abuelito, Mike is right. I hope you do not think I was bashing you. I have nothing but  for ya, and gave you some Karma to help. I just wanted you to know, that it is frustrating to try to read your posts. Just keep trying, you will get better. ;D Start by putting a period(.) at the end of your sentences, that would help alot. (y)

I drove my 02 AV to Mexico in 2002. From Boise, Idaho to Cochebambo, Sonora and back I logged over 7000 miles. The Avalanche took it like a champ. I didn't have any issues with the Mexican authorities because I just smiled and called myself a tourist. (My Bible on the dash helped!) But the roads in Mexico are bad and anyplace you can squeez your truck between two trees is called a street up there. Watch out for the burros! I'll be going again this December so maybe I'll see you up there grandpa!

Aint that the truth

abuelito, do you have a digital camera? I sure would love to see some photos of your trips.

For anyone wondering like I was, "abuelito" translates to "grandpa." At least that's what the translator I found on the internet says.

I think I'm going to try to learn Spanish, particularly since it appears that I'm destined to spend the rest of my life in Florida.

Please see my question about learning Spanish in THIS THREAD

;D ;D that is a wonderful idea! you will be able to make many new friends in this manner, it is an easy language, just study a little bit as you drive ok. your friend abuelito i hope i put periods and commas where they belong..

:) :) :) :) friend danielvk if you go back when you get to cochebambo take the train and cross over to the cooper canyon home of the taraumara indians,,get off at creel a small town there take transportation down into the canyon,, on top at station there will be snow but as you go down you will see orange trees in bloom and avacados, down at bottom you will see where they mined silver, they rolled the silver off of rocks like blankets,,in the smithsonian in washington they have a sample,, you still can walk in the small river that is is the bottom of the canyon and find small pieces of silver. there are places to sleep small hotels and places to eat. about i mile below the main town by river you can find a place called sattevo, there you can find a family who grinds up dried mud and they settle out the fine gold and mud, they take it and put this mud and fine gold in a cloth and burn it off in a red hot fire, the indians are the long distant runners they wear red head bands and large white diapers and home made sandals... worth the trip abuelito

Abuelo, Sounds like a great idea. Voy generalmente a construir iglesias pero tomar? tiempo este a?o y explorar? este camino. I have friends that are Taramaras, or of Tarmara decient down there. But your proposal would be a great side trip. Can you send more specific directions?
Ok you other guys can start your Spanish lessons.
;D

daniel when you get to cochabombo ask where to take train to chiwawa [bad spell] its the copper canyon run barranca de cobre takes all day but you only go to creel top of mountain ok get off there many places to stay front of rail road station there is a place to rent a cabin with fire place nice and resturant also .. at this place ask about the trip down into the canyon down there you will see mountains of tailings where they mined silver remember this the spanish took out silver and gold for over 100 years so as you see these mountains of tailings you will see how muched they mined... there was an airforce retired sgt. living in the old jail there and he had a small centerfuge and he worked the tailings and took out gold he would come out every month with his bag of gold dust and nuggets..you can walk along the river and look and see small rocks with silver in it the silver has turned a gold color because the water but you can find it easly..i stayed at a catholic mission while i was there working paid 2dollars a night and 2 dollars to eat breakfast and lunch went to village at night and got tacos.. this place is interesting get train outside of cocabombo some thing like 20 dollars wow what great senery tunnels ....ok dan mexico has 6 canyons deeper than grand canyon abuelito
