Hola! My dealer called me last week to inform me that my new WBH left the factory and was on its way. He indicated that it was scheduled to arrive at the dealership on March 5th. I asked whether it was arriving by turtle, or why else would it take a month? He said they're built in Mexico. Oh well, I guess I shouldn't be suprised...pass the salsa.

My replacement cladding to replace that which is falling off the right side is being shipped from the parts distribution warehouse in Mexico. Viva NAFTA! (y)

Yea, a whole lot of our "American" cars and trucks are now made in Mexico. Remember Ross Perot? Well that great "SUCKING SOUND" of all the jobs leaving the USA is here now!

Yep, making cars is Mexico is a way for cheap labor for GM. Now they're making more money with making cars there than here which no matter how you think of it, it's either a good or bad thing, probably good :).

Where are you located? Alaska? ?(jus kiddin :p) My 2500 was built on 1/27 and arrived yesterday 2/10. ?I am in California. ?Took 2 weeks to get here from Mexico.

BTW the German Volkswagen Beetle is made in Brazil and my existing Chevy Impala is built in Canada. ?There goes the neighborhood.

Across the border.... Less Union hassles translates to lower wages, less benefits costs, more affordable product??
Wonder what the Av would sticker if built in the states???

Probably the same as it does now. It would just have a lower profit margin. Siveradoes, Tahoes and Suburbans are built in the US and Canada by union labor and come in on both sides of the Av's price points.

Suburbans are also built in Mexico. You don't see a lower sticker price on those. Every vehicle built by GM in a non-union plant means more money in the Generals pocket, not a savings for the consumer.

Thanks for the Sub info, AVid. I agree with your assessment completely.

I wish the AV was made in the GM Dallas F/W plant where they make Silverado?s and HoHos... I mean Tahoe?s.

Toyota just signed a deal here in Texas to build trucks in San Antonio. ?Sad that you have to buy a Japanese product to get something made in the USA. ? :6: Chrysler is now a German company, why did we bother with the bail out? ?

I did notice when pricing mine that the diff. between Invoice and MSRP is much more on the Av than on a Silverado.

mine has a frame date of July4th and it was sitting in my hands on the 17th in WV, so it shouldn't take too long.
