With the mid gate down ie for carrying drywall, do the front seats seal off from the rest of the vehicle or is it all open through out box. Does it tend to get cold in the cab in the winter if the mid gate is down??

I have not driven for too long of a period of time with the mid-gate down in the winter. I have noticed that it takes a minute or two longer to get the cabin warmed up. I think that unless you are dealing with days that are below 20 degrees F on a regular basis the heater should be able to keep you warm most of the time.

Hopefully this will make sense....

It is open, but if you have the rear glass in place and the 3 covers on the amount of cold air you will experience would be minimal. I'm guessing that if your cargo area was a lot colder than the cab it might be cool for a while, but with your heater on it would balance out pretty quick, because with the rear glass in place as well as the cargo covers there is no new cold air coming in, if that makes sense. If you have the rear glass off or the cargo covers off then I'm guessing it will get a little chilly, depending on how cold it is outside.

I have driven around with the wind blowing and the temp at 10 degrees, and it isn't too cold inside with the mid-gate down. Although I tend to crank the heat, it doesn't even occur to me.
