Mid November DFW GTG?

I'm throwing out a suggesting of having a local DFW GTG, Nov 15 or 16. Someplace centrally located, in Grapevine or Irving possibly?

Railhead, Hooters, SpeedZone, etc...

wanted to get some ideas going, if anyone knows a good monthly hangout joint (like Harper's is for ACA) throw it out there. Probably needs to be family oriented.

Votes so far:

Buck 'n Loons - 1

Hooters - Irving - 1

Hooters - Grapevine - 1 (11/14)

Fuddruckers (Grapevine or Bedford?) - 3

If the trend is Fuddruckers, indicate your preferred location, and we need to nail down a day and time (11/14-11/16).

Oh, and wonder91178 - "Gonna get my AV painted purple just as SOON as I have the cash flow!" - you DEFINITELY have to post pictures when you do. This was my first instinct when I decided the AV was for me but I haven't the cash yet either.

B-n-L is convienient to I-20, but wanted to take the North Dallas area folks into consideration as well...

please help keep this topic up top while I am on my cruise next week! :cool:
 
I am up for another GTG. What we try to do is have it on the 3rd Thurs of every month. That would put it on the 21st. Not sure if people will be planning on going out of town since it is the weekend before Thanksgiving. So it might be better to do it on the second Thurs which would be the Nov. 14th. I vote for Hooter's in Grapevine. There is more parking than the one in Irving.

Sorry that was not the place I was thinking about. I second the fuddruckers in Grapevine.
 
Buck and Loons or Fuddruckers would be great. You know they opened up the new Fuddruckers off 183 here in Bedford (the old Spagetti Warehouse) They have plenty of parking around also. Maybe they and our group can work out some kind of grand opening thing. Since it is right off the freeway there will be a lot of exposure.
Just a thought.

The Irving one is probably the nastiest restaurant I have even been in... completely turned me off of burgers for several months. I haven't patronized a Fuddruckers since.

the Irving one was attached to the mall - mall kiddies probably were a contributing factor to its condition.

Will add Fuddruckers to the list, Grapevine will probably be more convienient to the Dallas County bunch, but have never seen it, so don't know exactly how difficult it is to get to from the 114/121/360 mixer.
 
We can do Buck 'n Loons to celebrate the return of Kim's AV :0: - sounds like that will happen later next week? Let's say the Friday after she gets it back, happy hour at BnL?

Hey, this one (Fuddrucker's) like I said, is in Bedford off 183 and near 121 split. It is near my house and I can, and probably will go by today and talk to a manager and leave a brochure. See if I can spark an interest. This one is less that 10 minutes from Grapevine and about the same or a little more from Irving. Seeing as it is a new location the place will be clean. We need to meet in this area sometime for those of us in Tarrant county, even though Grapevine is not but about 15 mins from my house.
 
Works for me Dave, shouldn't be a big thing for anyone to drive out there once a month or so, count me in!

Let us know what the manager says :)

Let's get something figured out by the end of Fri. 11/1/02. Then on Sat. morning I will make a new post and send out a flyer to the dfw email list. If there is someone that is not on the list let me know. If you got a flyer for the drive-in cruise you are on the list. If not let me know and I will add you to it.

I should know something today or tomorrow morning at the latest. I will go up and talk to the manager after the luch rush has calmed down. and will let you know ASAP

One prob, I'm at the gym Mon - Fri til 8 or 8:15pm, the one thing I don't let myself skimp out on, saturdays are cool with me though. Sorry, I'm a gym rat to the bone >:D I work out 5 - 6 days a week so I can eat crappy food.......hehe....

Ok folks here is the 411 so far.
I talked with the asst manager at the Fuddruckers, he said a Saturday would not be good because it is their busiest day all day. He suggested a week night to be better (probably a Thursday). He was open to the request for us to meet there, but couldn't really give me any information, that would have to be a manager/owner decision. I left a brochure and some other information for him to give to the owner, plus my name and phone numbers. So I am waiting to hear back, hopefully today.

And on a side note I gave a brochure to the contractor who built this location and working on 8 others, ( he has a sunset orange Z66), plus passed a brochure on to a white Escalde EXT. Both seemed very interested and will check out the site.

I will let everyone know what I find out from the owner/manager of Fuddruckers.
 
Thursday sounds good, and is in keeping with the 3rd Thursday thing (sorta). May need to start at 7:30pm or later to give everyone a chance to get thru traffic...

and we do BnL on a Saturday once Kim gets her truck back.
 
Sounds good guys! Just wanted to update ya'll on my truck, the shop guy said he'd be more than happy to take pics of my AV through the repair process and he'd call me when they pulled the cladding off the right side (I was curious to see a claddingless AV ;D ). They're going to be doing some welding on it so I'm guessing later next week would be the completion date!

BTW -

While I was driving to Precision I saw a red AV that had it's cladding painted red, it had a business logo on the side, something along the lines of Stripe Zone, any of ya'll heard of it? I figured if we could hunt them down we could get them a brochure, it was sharp looking like Dave's white AV ;D
