Hey Guys.....

I just finished insulating my midgate (photos below).

I also did my door panels with the same material/procedure (no photos of that sorry).

Had to improvise a tool to get to the release clips for the window retainer turn knobs but other than that this piece is snapped into place and was much easier than the door panels to insulate.

The results of doing this is well worth the effort, the door panels yielded much better results than expected!

Next...........dropping the headliner and doing the roof and last but not least the floor.....

I got the material at Pep Boys, it's for sound deadening/insulation and cost me about $20 for a 4x6 sheet and I've used 1 1/2 rolls so far.

Yes to both!

I like a nice quiet interior when I have all the windows up while driving, this insulating also helps with the heating/AC especially after I get the roof area done.

The first thing I noticed with the completion of the door panel project was when cars pass you by in opposing traffic (with the windows up of course) you can barely hear them compared to before.

Also the stereo seems to sound a lot better now also (Bose XM/CD/Nav).

Not too sure about what advantages this will have on the midgate section but from what I have experienced with the other doors it can't hurt any.

The midgate does sound more solid when you shut it now, just like the other 4 doors.

Thanks!

I'll see about taking photos of the roof/floor insulating jobs when I get to them.

I believe I'm going to take a break for right now and prepare myself mentally/physically for this next challenge.
